18-1 at lunch1

Addick Addict said:It is ironic that I was bemoaning Muyeye's unsuitability as an opener (51 runs in 4 innings) only for Crawley to actually "outperform" him (67 runs in 6 innings). Only Singh and Agar are below Crawley in this season's averages.
When he gets in he is absolute class and few batsmen look better yet, far too often for a player of his pedigree, he gives it away early.2 -
Compton gone too now - strangled down the legside
22-21 -
Compton c Roderick b Gibbon 11. Kent 22-2 with 61.5 overs left.1

Jack Leaning ends unbeaten on 179 after nine hours and 48 minutes and 145 overs at the crease during which he faced 403 balls.
Leaning's is the longest innings by minutes in the long history of Kent County Cricket Club - though of course that is a relatively modern statistic.

Denly out LBW. Cometh the hour, cometh the Leaning..............
36-31 -

Some of these batsmen need to have a look at themselves in the mirror after the game is done. Very Shocking we are having to save the game like this on the final day against Worcestershire5

It's a bit of a modern trend to do so. The logic is that you know that anything outside your eyeline you can leave. Most batsmen nowadays end up covering all three whatever guard they take which is as much a legacy of white ball cricket as much as anything else. That explains why we get so many LBWs nowadays as opposed to bowled. Simple in theory - just don't miss the ball.0 - Sponsored links:

67-3 with 47 overs left in the day1
-
Kent 107 behind at tea. Minimum 36 overs left. Kent 104-3.1
-
Leaning must be thrilled that the rest of the batsmen are chipping in and working so hard to help after his heroics yesterday and today. real team effort this. Has the wicket disintegrated?0
-
DBD getting out creates unwanted excitement.0
-
25 overs and 6 wickets left.
Come on Kent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!2 -
Should throw the bat, get a lead and chalk off two of the overs for a innings change ....0
-
They've shaken hands on a draw with 16 overs left.3
-
They could have said one more over to let finch get a 50 😂1

I'm surprised Worcs agreed to a close so early. If one wicket had fallen, with Leaning knackered and with a bad arm(?), things could have been tense.
Maybe they didn't want to overwork their bowlers, and get injuries.0 - Sponsored links:

Kent 2s started a 4-day game against Sussex today with a side that included someone, who knocked around with Seb and Jas in Adelaide, by the name of George O'Connor. He was a bit expensive but picked up a couple of wickets with his pace and bounce. Whether it was George's presence in the side but he returned his best figures since the start of the season. Stewart, unfortunately, still hasn't managed to get his first wicket of the season. Sussex were 311 all out at close of play.

Good to see Qadri & Jas taking wickets & hope to see some decent runs from young Denly & Muyeye.1 -
It appears that a certain England fast bowler, currently recovering from long term injury, might be appearing for Sussex 2s in their current game against us on Friday0
-
Kent 2s 69-3 with Dawkins (19), Muyeye (0) and O'Riordan (10) the men out. A possible combination of poor decision making by both player and umpire resulted in Muyeye being given out LBW first ball - he shouldered arms to a ball that was too close to do that to but one where it looks like it was probably just missing anyway. It is what happens when you are struggling for form.0
-
just seen that Muyeye decision, woeful! Not entirely sure what set of stumps it was hitting0

Wouldn't surprise me as I'd expect one of Crocombe or Hunt to be in the squad for the Yorkshire game , not sure if Robinson is cleared to play this week.0 -

Kent 254 all out. Severin top score with 74 (115) and Oliver Curtiss hit a run-a-ball 69 - who Seb played against on Saturday and is just a matter of 32 and 33 years younger respectively than his club mates namely former Kent cricketers Darren Stevens and Ben Trott0
