    You didn't have anything nice to say yet you said it. If this forum only reflected approval of posts then hardly anything would be added. My opinion was it is pretentious twaddle and I am happy to stick with that, others may like it and I wish them well.

    Listen matey I am permitted to express an opinion that "arcane Shrovetide game" is total pretentious bollocks (as were much of the previous work). You may indeed have an opinion that differs to mine and have actually missed these pieces, bully for you, but why should I not be able to state a contrary view on it. If you wish to promote a piece of 'journalism!' on this board then you should expect (and welcome) feedback on it, even if it is not "nice". So Sir!, I reject your recommendation.

    You say that as though pretentiousness is a bad thing. Would that the banal and mundane punditry of Murphy, Ferdinand, Shearer et al demonstrated one thousandth of the insight, humour and Bezosesque richness of language and imagination presented in the CA blog. How have I not seen it before?
    You are certainly entitled to your opinion, Halix, just as I am entitled to regard it with disdain.

    Agreed.

    As a non-English/neutral(ish) person, this is definitely the reportage that I enjoy the most.

    My only concern is the mismatched bookshelves, well, that and the fact that the author didn't get pizza for everyone...
