Stobo made a big difference though, as we'd got into a rather negative mindset. Just by looking to score runs, he put pressure back on the bowlers, and freed Finch up.

And that bowler is Gubbins bowling pies0

Kent win by 6 wickets with 9.3 overs to go
Finch 53* (95)
Stobo 32* (41)3 -
Well deserved 50 for Finch, but incredibly lucky not to get himself stumped on 49

Well done lads. Fairly comfortable in the end.0

Never in doubt.
It's coming home3 -
Of some interest to me is that the Beckenham wicket has always been a road. That was anything but a road and could it be that we've left some grass on it because we have such a heavy seam weighting especially with the threat of the two overseas bowlers?0

Is that 2 wins in 2 now?I need to sit down.5

I think that it was one of those pitches that if you just prodded around, you'd eventually get a good one, but it wasn't a Stevo greentop!0 -

Decided it was going to be too hot for us today as no shade & Mr F has to be careful after a malignant melanoma in 1993.
Looks to be circa 24 degrees on Sunday so hopefully we'll be there for the hatrick of victories.
Might sound a bit naughty but we were saying that Bilbo wouldn't have played as sensibly but positively as Harry did this afternoon. Definitely a plus for us in this competition.
And really taken to our current 2 overseas lads.2 -
The ECB have now successfully created a three tier county set up:
(1) The Test/Hundred hosting counties
(2) The Test hosting counties
(3) Us and the rest
With insufficient international matches to go round, even the Test only hosting counties are struggling to the extent that the ECB are facing the farcical situation of having to pay Glamorgan £2.5m in "compensation" for not bidding for any Test matches between 2020 and 2024 and similarly Hampshire's Bowl is not due to hold a Test match until 2027. The likes of the Oval and Lord's cannot keep up with demand hence the concentration of games for those two venues.
Those are the reasons why Hampshire have been forced to sell out to the Delhi Capitals and why we will continue to be the lowest of the low. Hampshire aren't doing this for the benefits of being in the Blast. They are doing it to be the next Hundred franchise or whatever the competition will be i.e. a revamped T20 to only include the existing 6 plus 2 more franchises.

An honest appraisal from Mark Dekker who also addresses the Ben Compton situation

The story so far:
Kent won the toss and elected to bat. Qadri came in for Ekansh meaning that all 11 of our side have bowled in professional red and white ball cricket.
Swanepoel went early, caught behind trying to cut a ball for half a dozen. O'Riordan and Evison took the score to 83 when Evison tried to sweep a ball and was absolutely plumb for 14 (35). A couple of runs later and O'Riordan was somewhat unlucky to be given out for 58 (46), after trying to play the reverse version of the sweep, given that contact was clearly outside off stump. The Umpire making that decision was some bloke called James Tredwell.1 -
Perhaps it's time for us to put the sweep away for a while - Jaydn becomes our third batsman out playing the shot, this time caught on the boundary doing so for 10 (17)
109-4 (19.2)1 -
An interesting choice to play the extra spinner, when spin didn't play that much of a part on Wednesday., and we already have Parky, Leaning and Jaydn in the side.0
-
132-4 at the halfway stage
Leaning 21* (25)
Finch 15* (22)1 - Sponsored links:
-
Finch out to another LBW to a ball that nips back and kept a bit low for 23 (31)
145-5 (27.3)1 -

Swiftly followed by Stobo lifting his back foot and being stumped for 2 (5)
148-6 (28.4)
We need to just bat time for the next 15 overs or so and take what we can get before a final launch1 -

Jordan Cox in the England Test squad is a bit painful

Glad we decided against attending...again....and trying hard to stay away from the live stream.
Can't see us qualifying for the next stage of the Cup with these poor batting performances.
Feel really "down" at the moment

Stewart caught behind for 10 (19)
163-81 -

Qadri top edges one - out for 25 (37)
203-9 (44.1)1 -
And then a needless run out to end the innings off 204 off 44.4
Let's hope those 5 overs or so aren't the difference between victory and defeat2
