Maybe they were inspired by the naming of Brooklyn Beckham, and that was where she was conceived.
No, that would be Oxleas Wood

That was a good evening for the smaller caribbean nations, Saint Lucia and Dominica picking up golds and Grenada a bronze.

Great performance by Alfred. Good to see the Americans not having it all their own way. I don't think they will win the men's 100m either. The Jamaican Thompson looks the man to beat there.
The Americans quite often don't have it their way in the 100m. Haven't won the mens 100m since 2004 and haven't won the womens since 1996.

It isn't much better in the 200m either. No mens gold since Michael Johnson blew everyone away in 1996 and in the womens only 1 gold since 1992.

Rhys McClenaghan joins Irish greats AP McCoy, Ruby Walsh, Pat Eddery, and Richard Dunwoody after he won Gold in the Gymnastics and was brilliant on a horse.

Yeah it's a poor run for them. I am sure Noah Lyles will change that in the men's. 200m will be his gold, 100m not his specialty but likely he'll be close to a medal in that. He was too laid back in the first heat and won't make that mistake again.

Superb from Alfred. Big surprise. Thought that was easily going to be Richardson's gold, considering the top three Jamaican's were all missing in the final.

200m will be exciting, hard to guess the gold medal from Thomas, Jackson, and Ta Lou Smith. Didn't realise until now Alfred is also running the 200m, so is going for double gold.
I don't see Ta Lou Smith competing in this one, she's not been great over the distance this year. Thomas has to be fave but I fancy Alfred to push her close and Dina to come good

Until 1993, French children could only be given names from an approved list. They should reinstate that law, and the rest of the world should follow suit...

Sha'Carri, Ta Lou and Twanisha would be better off for it.

Me and my sister, TurnOver Page were born in France before 1993, I wondered where she got her name from.

Struggling to break down 10 man India in the hockey. Currently 1-1.

Same problem as the football team, no natural left hander. Team full of right handers playing on the left

Well Britain couldn’t beat India who played the vast majority of the match with 10 men, India then scored all of their penalties whilst GB missed half of ours. Beaten by the better team.
  • Have the USA nicked our athletics kit?  Can't get used to this dark blue one.

Hockey's not a great TV sport is it? No idea where the ball is most of the time. I've switched to the long jump - at least you can see where the sand pit is!

    Men's Hockey:
India knock out GB in penalty shoot out despite playing with one player less after a red card in the first quarter.
The best team won unfortunately and their keeper was exceptional.

A shame about the hockey but they had a chance in normal time being a man up and then another chance in the shoot out and didn't take them.

Agree on Thomas, especially now that Jackson has withdrawn. Not a great games for the female Jamaican sprinters.

we should stick with white with the red and blue stripe, you know where we are then. I wouldn't think theres a great replica kit market, so they should stick with a kit we can pick out in events.

I just watched one as I recognised the music then got fascinated watching a horse move in time to David Bowie. It’s addictive! Turned it off as soon as it finished though as I can’t waste my day watching that.
