    That was superb

Deserved winners, and if the chances Kanu had, were Godden’s chances, we would have won that 3 or 4 nil

    Love it 😍
Godden probably doesn't have the pace or engine to have gotten in position for those chances tbf

I only caught the last 10 minutes. Did the new formation look like the solution going forward?
it did .. shows what can be done when you get your formations right and properly motivate your team .. Jones has done the right thing today, ditched his three at the back and wing back 'obsession' and got real .. excuse me if I don't go overboard about this win, I said at the start of the season I expect us to get promoted, and 'big spending Brum' and all the others are there to be beaten FROM NOW ON, keep the four at the back and we'll do more than OK

Cracking performance, great pressing with some real quality on the ball at times. Alan Campbell was really on his game. Bad miss from Kanu but he was a pain in the neck for their defence all game. Proper captain's performance from Docherty too. Starting to love Matty Godden. Hopefully it was just a case of getting him and A Campbell match fit after not playing much for a while.

The formation worked well for our players as Ramsay and Edwards are more full backs than wing backs for me. Chuks and TC kept the pressure on nicely when they came on. I like Berry but he couldn't adjust to the pace of the game.

Anyway...I'm on the train home beaming! So nice to see a win and a rocking valley again.

Great win, not surprised because that’s what we do so they need to carry that grit and determination into the next match

Also not so much hoofball today which is a positive 👍🏻

Yes, it was a great win, and yes, we fully deserved it, but bloody hell were Birmingham shit. No attacking impetus whatsoever, and couldn't handle the press, and then couldn't work out what to do instead so continued to fuck about at the back with it, which played right into our hands.

I think they expect most teams to not even turn up against them and sit back and not try to attack, but when that didn't happen and we pressed high, they panicked. The triple sub at half time alludes to that, but it didn't make them any better.

For 3000 strong their fans were awful as well, so passive it was unbelievable

We won a quality football match for the first time this season. The players knew their roles and stuck to them and the man.
Jones has this time shown he can learn.
There are still weakness in the play but they can be compensated for as shown today.

How very Charlton of us!   It’s going to be a bit of a Jeckyl and Hyde season methinks. A change of shape at last and brilliant effort all round. Ramsay a beast but hard to fault any of them. Watched the Birmingham stream as I’m done with Brown’s verbal diahorea. They were very magnanimous.  They had a bad day at the office but they praised Charlton for a job well done.
  • Certainly wasn't expecting that today. So good to see the hoofball ditched and have a lot more confidence from seeing that we can play like that. To a man the players were superb and Birmingham barely got a sniff all game. That won't happen many times this season.

Kayne Ramsay fast becoming my favourite player.
  • Excellent performance to stop the rot hope we stick with the 442.

    That’s why I love football.
I fully expected to get a footballing lesson today and we made Birmingham City look bang average .
Every player to a man did what was asked of them and how good is Ramsey ? !
Great to see Docherty get back to form and Alan Campbell show us what we signed him for .
Credit to Jones for changing formation because it totally worked . What a difference a few days makes .
    Well done Charlton !!!

Special shout out for TC at the end. They didn’t know how to handle him and he seemed to win every duel, their defenders had no chance
Shame the ref was such a bell end not giving us free kicks when all they could do was drag him back.
  • So much better without the tedious long ball to Ahadme routine of recent games.

Yes. Ramsey and Edwards are better at full back then wing back, so the defence looked solid again.
That means that our lack of goalscoring nous does not matter so much. That has not changed.

Credit where credit is due, that was a fantastic performance and much needed. We have two great full backs in Ramsay and Edwards and the defence looked solid again. Coventry had another great game so it's a shame he will have a suspension next game and Godden has to start every week.
We need to get ourselves up for the "easier" games week in week out because we have shown we can beat the best in this league when we are on it.
    Onwards and upwards. COYR.
  • How much have they spent? On that showing it's been wasted.
Hmm. Have you seen the table recently?

We have beaten the top of the table team and deservedly so but it was far from a quality football match, as others have said Birmingham looked well off the pace and a little bemused that we didn’t roll over
  • The most deserved win we’ve had all season.

    Fair play, great performance.

Chuffed with that. Have a good Saturday night, Addicks 👍

The Nathan Jones diamond sparkled, Campbell and Coventry at the tips were exceptional
