Steve Bruce wont be taking charge of Blackpool this weekend, after more tragic news.

That and the Liam Manning news are both just so sad.2

Very sad. That's actually the son of Matt Smith, the former Millwall striker, who is the son-in-law of Steve Bruce.ForeverAddickted said:Steve Bruce wont be taking charge of Blackpool this weekend, after more tragic news.

Burton sack Mark Robinson. Lost 7 on the spin after a very busy summer.0 -
Who could have seen that coming?MarcusH26 said:https://www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news/2024/october/23/men-s-football-update/

Always thought it was a weird appointment. Another one of these managers that's probably very good at age group level but it never translates to the senior team. Will be interesting to see who they go for, Rowett feels an obvious move with his past there.2 -
Not sure he'll drop down that far. Wait a few weeks and there will be Championship jobs availableMarcusH26 said:fenaddick said:

Just had a quick poke at transfermarkt for who's available, can see the likes of Leam Richardson being in the mix , maybe not Ainsworth because I expect Burtons owners will actually want to play football.0 -
He must have been gutted that out game against them was called off. He was probably targeting our game as the one to turn around their fortunes!!!MarcusH26 said:https://www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news/2024/october/23/men-s-football-update/

Burton isn't an attractive job for an established manager. They're main success has generally been with young managers0

Duncan Ferguson has left his position as manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, the former Scotland striker has told BBC Scotland News.
The Scottish League 1 club was put into administration on Tuesday amid financial issues and was automatically deducted 15 points as a result.

Duncan Fergusson for the Burton job then...😄0

He'd been working for free for a while apparently, so can't blame him for going now.clive said:Duncan Ferguson has left his position as manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, the former Scotland striker has told BBC Scotland News.

That's a left field appointment, I know Holloway wanted to manage again but I didn't think it would actually happen.0

there was an article recently about managers out of work and e was interviewed. After a long period out of the game he was saying it was nothing like being involved and he was still hopeful of getting a gig. Looks like the article could have reminded Swindon of his availabiltiy.MarcusH26 said:That's a left field appointment, I know Holloway wanted to manage again but I didn't think it would actually happen.0 -

Yeah I remember reading the exact article and wondering if anyone would actually give him a call. Always thought Holloway was more of a Jan/Feb survival specialist than someone you bring in now!0 -
Very odd appointment. I can see them going out of the league now.0

They were in freefall so likely to happen anyway, might as well take a puntBedsaddick said:Very odd appointment. I can see them going out of the league now.0 -

They're recent results were hardly that bad. The sort of managerial sacking and appointment of an owner who doesn't know what he wants for the club.fenaddick said:

1 win in 7 and only 3 points above the relegation zone isn't good enough for a club of that size when there are much smaller clubs doing much much better in the leaguekillerandflash said:

Swindon is a railway town so us Addicks need them to stay in the league. Lost Darlington which was a bitter blow.

New opening at Man Utd.
Any takers?1 -
Surprised they actually did it. Sounds like the backroom staff are staying on which is never a good look for a PL manager0

Reckon Ruud is there as the caretaker option when Ten Hag starts the season badly?clive said:Manchester United has appointed Rene Hake and Ruud van Nistelrooy as assistant managers of the men’s first team, to work under Erik ten Hag until June 2026.

Can't believe Ten Hag is gone. He was doing a great job and should have been given more time5

Should we be worried ? Is Nathan Jones on their radar ?2
