Paul Nevin and James Rowberry, currently England Under 20s and Wales senior team’s Assistant Coach respectively, have joined as Assistant Managers.

I believe Robins when he turned down the spanners as he wanted a break from football, the lure of managing Stoke was too much to turn down.

He's never managed a southern team and Stoke is probably only an hour up the M6 from Coventry so he might not even need to move house.ElfsborgAddick said:clive said:Mark Robins has been appointed Manager of Stoke City on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

I'd also expect that Stoke pay more than Millwall as well.2 -
In the last few years Stoke in the Championship have been a bit like Charlton in L1 or Bradford in L2
Potential managers look at them and think that they ought to be doing much better at that level, and that if they took charge, they could be the person to turn things around and get them promoted.
Unfortunately, it never happens...5 -

That's a bit of a change of direction by Gillingham. Coleman has never worked down south either.0

Feels like their owner has got a case of the Sandgaards in terms of not having a clue what kind of manager he wants. Am surprised Bonner didn't work out but Coleman is a complete 180 from Clemence and Bonner.6 -

And weird to bring in an appointment to the end of the season, when there's half a season to go. It's what teams normally do in March when trying to stave off relegation!MarcusH26 said:killerandflash said:That's a bit of a change of direction by Gillingham. There's something about football club ownership that brings out the worst in otherwise successful businessmen. Wanting instant results and success, and even if that is delivered, then wanting sexier football.1 -
Reports that Potter is in talks with West Ham, would probably be a good fit0

Rob Edwards is leaving Luton by mutual consent. Which to me means 'we're firing you but as you got us promoted to the Premier League we'll give you some respect and not announce it as a sacking'.4

Weird how they've gone from overperforming to get promoted and then have a respectable season in the PL, to underperforming so badly.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Rob Edwards is leaving Luton by mutual consent.
