Patient build up, won lots of loose balls, showed endeavour and tenacity and finally got what we deserved. They had one chance and fluffed it. Many complaints about resorting to long ball tactics towards the end but every team does that in desperation and why not when you have a battering ram like Chuks.Rather than revel in the joy of a well deserved last minute winner some would rather focus on what was lacking or even more bizarrely moan about the fucking floodlights!!
5 wins and a draw in our last 7 games and we’re heading in the right direction. Enjoy the ride! I certainly will as it’s a far cry from the despair of wondering if we would even have a club to support in future
Love a last minute winner 😎1 -

Fantastic!
Huffed and puffed and then got our reward - all be it they had a chance just a moment before to ruin everything.
We kept going and got our reward - a win on Tuesday and the results going our way and we may even start looking ahead.0 -
According to Charlton website report of the 12,900+ there 531 came from Charlton, I knew our support had declined, did not realize it had that much.8

One thing (and I mentioned it on the match thread) I really do not understand for the life of me. We are at home. We are struggling to break down the opposition who have a corner. We have all 11 defending and we clear the ball to no one on the half way line. With our pace that really is one situation where there are massive gaps to exploit but, instead, we are inviting the opposition to send the ball straight back into our box and put us under more pressure. Until we clear it again that is.
Basic football.

We are the only team in the league who have a 100% record when scoring the first goal in a match.
We are tied with Stevenage for the fewest goals conceded after scoring first (2 goals conceded: Cambridge (H) & Wycombe (H)).2 -
This is a substantial improvement on last season where we must have thrown away about 20-30 points in the last 5mins + added time. It was awful8

Wow. For 90 minutes, that was a chore to watch, and I escaped a couple of time to load the dish washer, put washing out and generally tidy. We began to turn the screw in the 90th, they had a golden opportunity to turn dogged scrapping into 3 points in the 92nd, and three minutes later, delirium.
To be honest, over 90 minutes we were average, against a poor team set up to defend. That would have been 1 point on another day, and I hope we bring in some creativity while there is time.
But an injury time winner is a crazy moment and I'm still riding high this morning.4 -

But it was a truly emotional moment close to when Sir Chris got his goal.0 -
Absolute scenes in the 96th minute remind me why we love this game!
So happy to of witnessed that first hand!
I felt we lacked a little zip today, passes were not struck with purpose, quite ofter we chose to play back to Jones instead of finding the fwd pass, no real urgency until the last few minutes.
Prior to that the only real chance was leaburns header that was heading for the bottom corner, the keeper did well to push round his left hand post.
And then I thought we'd lost it, when the shrews managed to scuff a shot that should of been buried. Jones stretching a leg out to divert the bobbling ball around the post.
All in all, it's another 3 points, and that's the stat that matters.
I bloody love coming back to the valley, and i always seek out @Fanny Fanackapan, in crossbars, so good to see you again jean.8 -
Their keeper was frustratingly good I thought.11

Two points of the play-offs shows how crap this division is.
Three shots on target v one on target shows how bad that football was yesterday.
Small has panicked of late when cutting in on his left foot and shooting, perhaps we ought to restrict him to shooting with his right?1 - Sponsored links:

Sorry, but I have Leuth and the other poster right on this one. The owners may well regret it if they don’t support buying a decent creative midfielder to replace him. He’d be OK coming off the bench against a tiring midfield/defence0 -
Berry didn't have the best of games. But if we think back to before he was a regular in that position, we were awful, and players like TC and Small weren't functioning at anything like their current levels.
Not saying that we can't do better, but I think Berry adds something despite his poor game yesterday.8 -
Heard we’re looking at bringing a couple in from someone in the club, no idea who but why is every thing so lastminute.com
do it and do it early stop fannying around , I know there’s a list of excuses available but January didn’t just appear by magic .
Not that we’re currently desperate but some tired legs are out there and we won be able to ride our luck for too much more .10 -
Felt sorry for Leaburn today, was so isolated. TC and Small should absolutely stay wide as that’s where they are most dangerous but the attacking midfielder in the 3 needs to get up closer to ML quicker in transition or he stands no chance of occupying 2/3 CBs on his own. Sadly Berry hasn’t got the engine to do that, it’s our biggest attacking issue at the moment and I really hope we address it in this final week of the window.7

Leaburn is still learning IMO. What he needs to do is put himself about a bit more. I think there is a lack of movement too when we are building an attack. When he tries this he often fouls. He is going to be a special player but he is in the right place as he is starting here whereas if he goes to another club, he might get pushed into the wilderness if he has a bad game or two.3

Great squad attitude! Fighting until the end and got it!! We are two points to the playoffs position 💪🏻💪🏻. Every match is a single final 😉.1

When you look at the goal again, great credit has to go to Anderson and Edwards. Anderson won a terrific knock on header against one of their centre halfs and Edwards flicked it on into the danger area.13

Back in Thailand for a few days so had to watch this on the laptop, late at night, on Charlton TV.
It wasn't the most enjoyable of matches, and for much of it I was thinking "I'm glad I'm not at The Valley" of "that was a waste of a tenner" but that all changed in the last minute, after which I was happy to watch the team's celebrations and even a long distance view of the tunnel jumps.
My thought seem to echo most, with Small and Campbell standouts, Jones, Dochertly and Edwards very good, Berry and Leaburn the least effective on the day.
Intersting it was Allan Campbell replaced on the bench by Ramsay. He's hardly featued recently and I wonder if we might not be seeing much more of him. It's a loan that hasn't really worked.2 -
I thought that was a disappointing performance. Shrews with a new manager , organised etc but ultimately still bottom and offered nothing at all in terms of even attempting to garner attacking threat. Despite that, we managed to create only 3 chances all game.Delighted we got a win and we simply must win again on Tuesday.Would like to small under new contract!0
