Very interesting, thanks for posting Clive. I'd urge anyone to read it. Scandalous waste by Peabody in a housing and renting crisis.

"One reason the numbers for new homes near Abbey Wood are apparently “high” [...] is because data ignored homes Peabody have demolished but are yet to rebuild."

    Also

"Of the almost 6,000 homes announced in a Housing Zone announcement a decade ago Peabody have completed less than 600."

Yep. I should have checked. Stupid to assume that one of the major transport lines in one of the world’s biggest capitals/cities might possibly run at least past 11pm 🤦🏻‍♂️

22:46 is a ridiculous time for a last train, however, do you have two accounts? 😃

On a Sunday as well where most things end earlier, did that not cross your mind too?

This excuse might have washed in 1985. Does everything in your life shut down an hour earlier on Sundays?

Why don't you just write a letter/email about it? That's your normal go-to tactic isn't it

Whether or not it should happen (and I agree it's ridiculous how early things shut on Sunday's in UK), it is well known that things do close earlier on a Sunday.

All I can say is, if a couple of the travelling party didn’t take a piss stop when we arrived back at Marylebone, then we wouldn’t be talking about it.

What’s crossing my mind at the moment is probably not to be too fussed about petty things in life like our newest train line being tucked up early for the night or posters like you! 😘

Good article, as usual, from the murky depths, showing that rail services to and from Abbey Wood on national rail continue to lag behind after the 2022 cuts with more homes now from Dartford to Greenwich.
"Whitehall continues to block funding for improvements on National Rail now in charge despite a substantial rise in housing and population in areas such as north Kent. Renationalisation isn’t the fix-all some believe if the government of the day has little interest in funding service improvements." Key point being that Southeastern is run by/ funded by central government (not TFL, as i had previously thought)

A shame that they still haven’t extended the Sunday service to Woolwich. Last train still arrives at 11.09pm.
  • Wouldn’t have even considered buying in Woolwich if it weren’t for the lizzie line. Close to the riverside, a stones throw from the valley and 20 mins to the city for work on the lizzie line. What’s not to like?
  • I was stuck on it yesterday evening heading towards Abbey Wood at Canary Wharf. Apparently some power outage in the Western region around Paddington, but the trains in that direction were going merrily along their way.

And the DLR, shows what you can do to a place if you improve it's infrastructure.

Bakerloo line extension to Lewisham please!

Have used it a few times getting to Heathrow, can never understand why there isn’t anywhere to put travel bags / suitcases.
