The Netflix documentary that is bound to be streamed this Autumn covering the dramatic situation, setting Olympic Lyonnaise and Crystal Palace in a dramatic face-off to see which team is allowed to play in Europe will, surely, be titled "L'OL v LOL".
Putting aside the desire to see Palace expelled from Europe, this really highlights all the pitfalls of multi club ownership. Textor is clearly using Lyon's money to bankroll Botafogo, and Lyon end up getting punished for it. Shouldn't be allowed.

.i guess the question then arises for UEFA/FIFA is were any of the other clubs in that Eagle Football Holdings also part of the same approach/support group

As Charlton fans we know the falls of multi-club ownership (with Ronald) and have suffered as a result. Don't need another reminder would of thought Palace seen us and acted better.
I've seen it said they would take priority over Brondby because they qualified on merit for the more prestigious competition, so Brondby would have to drop out.
I don't think anyone really knows though. It's a total mess as if they do get kicked out then Palace will probably appeal to CAS and it will drag on.
Always good to see this dragged out, especially for the spanners or palarse...
Steady everyone. The depths of their spawnyness knows no bounds, i predict those stripey London wannabes will be getting dicked in Europe! Ooah er... where's my Kenneth Williams meme?
Unfortunately, having reviewed the numerous flagrant beaches of UEFA's rules made by yourselves and your owners, you are hereby removed from European competition.
We understand from your submission that "instead of playing in the Europa League", you would be "prepared to play in the Conference".
We regard this as an unusual compromise, but, having carefully considered all the options, we are prepared to acquiesce with your suggestions. Therefore we hereby acknowledge and allow your request to play in the Conference in the 2025-26 season.
Please note however, that it is no longer called "Conference", but, instead it is known as the "National League".
Good luck in your opening fixture, which is against Braintree Town.
