  • A trainee has bowled in at 11:45 claiming there were 3 hour delays at his station today. I think he lives in or around Medway. Can anyone confirm this?
    Yes, he lives in Medway

Their Twitter feed shows no disruptions in that area today.

That Twitter feed is as much use as Todds_right_hook, last update 2023! Website says no serious delays until 11ish.

His weekend is about to be ruined!

My son works on the stations in Medway and said no major delays out of Medway today

Maybe he meant he had a 3 hour delay getting to the station.  Surely just a warning for him though. Learn from it. Work on better excuses

He has worked on his excuses, his one yesterday was "Sorry I had a job interview."

Will there be a charge to use it?
Yes, but only one way in the morning rush hour and the opposite way in the evening rush hour.

    Grass
I’m not certain that grass on the lines is a suitable excuse for being 3 hours late for work;-)

It was the ‘wrong type’ of grass.

Perfectly good excuse for being 3 hours late for work. 'Grass was stronger than expected causing a delay to the train journey i normally get'.

(Wake up bong hit me for six and i had to have a lie down to let the room settle before setting off to the station 3 hours later than normal)

    Wednesday 12/11/25 08.00

A person has been hit by a train in the New Cross area. Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, some lines between Lewisham and New Cross are closed and trains will be cancelled, delayed or revised.

    • Bexleyheath line services are suspended. Services will be cancelled or diverted on alternative routes
    • Services on other lines may experience delays but remain open

    Disruption is expected until 10:30.

That was my train and it was at Lewisham station. Not sure why they keep saying 'the New Cross area'.

Not sure what happened but I think they somehow went down the gap between the platform and the train. They immediately shut all lines and, after about 10 minutes, evacuated our train.
  • He survived but lost both his hands. Must have been an horrendous thing to witness.

The Sidcup line sees direct trains to the Elizabeth line at Abbey Wood return all-day rather than just the peaks at present. That’s another 2022 service reduction set to be reversed.

Hopefully they return at weekend too

As far as I can tell there will be no trains between Blackheath and Charlton on Saturday.
The Kent bound 5.17 out of Charlton after the match is the loopy loop. It takes about 40 minutes to get to the environs of South East London.
