I know we weren't our best against QPR but I think we still deserved a point IMO and a useless ref should have sent one of their players off at 1-1. What is different about this division is that you get less moments and you have to have them go for you. The refs are just as poor although last week's one was OK.
The way I see it, we have been in every game and deserve more points but I have been of the mind that we keep going and it will come our way. And today was an example of that. A useless ref cost us 3 points at QPR and a good one cost us 2 points last week. Another useless one this week but that didn't cost us. We are not pretty but you can see we are horrible to play against. That hasn't changed from last season.5 -

Bloody brilliant. Like a few on here, I expected the wilder bounce to take off and us to take a bit of a beating but after 10-15 mins I didn't think Sheff were all that. As the game went on I wasn't worried we would concede and felt like we would get a 0-0 at worst but always knew we were capable or nicking all 3 points.
Due to our shape and determination Chef were never getting through our solid back line and it was a case of taking one of our chances to bring the 3 points home. Fcking well done boys. UTA!5 -
Great defensive display today. The were so well organised and blocked everything that came their way. Having said that it wasn't a defensive performance because we did create a number of chances. A lot of excellent performances out there today but I thought Doc was the stand out.
I love the energy of this team and from 80 minutes there was only going to be one team with a chance of winning. And that's what happened!
Was chatting to a Sheff United fan on the train on the way back. He was generally very negative about his team and predicted that they would be in a relegation battle even before the season started. He was also very put out that their stripey neighbours won and are 4 points ahead of them. I was surprised that they call them the Massives too! I thought it was just us.6 -
Not long home back to West Yorkshire after a stop for some food. A proper performance that, better team and fully deserved.
Glad Tanto got on and scored - what a difference two upfront makes! Hopefully he plays some more now.
Bree had a quality game, as did Burke. Leaburn effective, Tanto too obviously. Some selection headaches coming up for Jones.4 -
I know we are all happy but concerning our victories have been two 90th minute and later goals.Seriously need to change our system to fit the players we have bought.9
-
That is a huge result after 4 games where we didn't pick up the points that our performances merited.
As supporters, we really shouldn't be apprehensive of anyone in this league. The players clearly aren't.7 -

It’s been said but the away end was bedlam when we scored. Just brilliant. We were right behind the goal, my lad absolutely loved it. What a day. Absolutely soaked, not Yeovil away soaked, but not far off.23

Watched the stream, just a few comments, maybe already stated.
Doc was immense, a great performance.
Bree is a serious threat to Apter. He had a couple of dodgy moments but it was his first start and overall he was very good, especially for the goal.
Burke very solid.
Very good to see Bree & Burke get 90+ minutes .... we really have some depth now.
Jones his normal fantastic self.
Edwards and Bell also usual selves.
Great defence and we are gonna be really competetive. COYR.9 -
Yeh, shout out for Doc - very good today.2

At the game, bloody fantastic, the emotion in the away end when we scored was something to behold. I was battered from left and right, everyone was leaping around with the enjoyment of the moment.
Enjoyed some of the chants at the ground today. As you know, they also have a player called Tyreese Campbell ( notice the slight spelling difference) When he was on the ball, the Charlton faithful started singing, ' You're just a shit Tyreece Campbell, shit Tyreece Campbell.........'
The other one I enjoyed, rather childishly, was when Wilder came onto the pitch after the final whistle, and our fans started chanting ' Sacked in the morning, you'll be sacked in the morning....etc'
A perfect awayday performance, strong defensively, was impressed with Burkes performance, Bree had a few sloppy moments in the first half, but grew into the game and came on strong in the second half. Nathan's game changers came on and applied the pressure on their back line for the last ten minutes, resulting in the goal.
To cap it all I ended up on the train to Manchester with Steve Brown and Gavin Carter. They were off to Dumfries for the RSK AGM, on Monday, giving a presentation about how the sponsorship is going.
Steve Brown had organised the trains, using trainline, but their were gaps in trainlines information about the three changes they needed to make.
Using Realtimetrains, I was at least able to point them to the right train and platform at Manchester, hope they got to Dumfries OK. Call us trainspotters!
I've never met either of them before, Steve Brown was such a lovely fella, and he thanked me for sorting out the train connection at Manchester. Gavin Carter was also engaging, and asked me why I was a season ticket holder, living in Manchester. I now officially love Steve Brown, and Gavin Carter looks like a steady hand at the wheel.
Only downside, they were drinking Budweiser on the train! Shame on them!! What about some decent English beer.51 -

We have 5 players up front to choose from (when Godden is back) but we don't know our best combination.
In midfield, we have Fullah (see NJs comments I shared in his thread) and Berry to put pressure on Carey, as well as Knibbs. Coventry and Docherty aren't guaranteed to start either, in JRC we have a player who's only played at this level and Anderson who I wouldn't write off stepping up in time, just like Docherty he's better off the ball.
Our strongest team might look quite different by the end of the season.25 - Sponsored links:

Just got back. What a great day.Rain did not stop - good atmosphere though.Team played much better - defending for their lives & some solid chances.Felt NJ left the subs too late but it did make the difference.I thought we took a good number up to add to their 30k gate. The goal celebrations with most of team & some breakout fans - joyous, even the subs came running across to join in. Sadly the touchline advertising was the casualty.Same again next week please.8

…I think we need to look at two upfront.1

Just running at teams with TC feeding off scraps must be soul destroying for the lad. In six league games his average playing time is only an hour!
I really hope that Charlie gets some support perhaps from Knibbs if Carey gets pulled otherwise I'm dumbstruck as to why Nathan ever bought him.I cannot see that at the money we paid for him, it was for a right now. We've been third division for five seasons and got promoted to one more promotion to the Premier League.0 -
Kelman isn’t a solo target man. Needs someone with him.4

It would be interesting if we paired Kelman and Olaofe for a few games, we do need to start scoring more goals. I realise this may mean a different style of play by Jones.

If Jones can work out how to tweak our formation so that we can create more chances then who knows what's to come.
Safe trip home Addicks.

That was lots of fun. Great away day with plenty of good pubs, Charlton fans in great humour on the trains and three points. Let’s do that a few more times this season and we’ll be fine.6

Joking aside, that's surely not something he should be doing?0
