He bought the club. He did not save the club. No ones knows what would have happened had he not bought the club at the point he did. What we probably know is the crooks who did have it would have quickly have run out fo cash to keep it going, then push would have come to shove and someone else would have bought us.
What we do know about him was
He paid £1.5m to Nimer and Southall
Locked us into a deal with RD for The Valley and TG where the lease is getting very close to now expiring.
Did not have a clue how to run a football club, but would not take any advice from anyone who had historical knowledge of our club.
Sacked Jacko by zoom when he had been sat with him 24 hrs previously.
Treated other staff members in a terrible way.
The mysterious way his partner was not back in the country when she had been a very noticeable presence before then.6 -
He meant well . He got caught up in the attention he got without knowing how to do the job or who to employ to do the job .I have no malice towards him at all . We’ve had a lot worse owners but that bar is pretty low .4

Got the impression he did accept football-related advice from others at the outset. Could be completely wrong, but I felt like he got hooked up with the wrong advisors and this ultimately led to him deciding to do things his own way, i.e. very badly.
I can't believe it was his own idea to appoint Nigel Adkins and not surprised he turned his back on so-called experts if that was the standard of advice they were giving.
Deserves credit for saving us from some real crooks, and for selling the club reasonably quickly, and without trying to stitch us up, when things went sour. But can't say I wasn't very relieved when he left though.
Good football owners are few and far between these days. The current lot are competent but invisible. Makes you realise how spoilt we were from "Back to The Valley" up to Premier League relegation - everyone pulling in the same direction from owners down to fans, with the sole aim being the betterment of the club. Doubt we'll ever see that again.7 -
One good thing was brought back Floyd & Harvey as mascots2

will never forget at the evening with curbs do, when i slaughtered his addicts to victory song to his face, he flashed his veneer gnashers at me, his mrs bounced over and told me it was good, I looked at her tits and licked my lips after that I didnt seem to get on with him18

That infamous Saturday night in the Oak with his guitar after a home game is up there as one I will remember for a very long time (I was not in there by the way)4

It is looking a lot brighter now thanks to the new owners and our crazy manager.0 -
I will always give him a round of applause for saving us from utter disaster. I remember ‘watching’ the updates from court on this forum and being so pleased when he was victorious against the criminals. He sacked some very good staff
he was an egomaniacBut the alternative was much more dire.4 -

Will always be thankful to him for that and it was never dull from then on however you look at it.2 -

I wonder if Martin ( Hotshot Hamish) got another job in football after Charlton?0

I think Trump's Liberation Day explains the vertical drop in April 2025, but things were hardly healthy at that time.
The value of Sandgaard's battery supply company (for that is what it is) has dived in the last five years. He has had his challenges, but it looks like his business acumen is consistently poor whether the field is soccer or snake oil.1 -
Egotistical twat… but still better than previous owners!0

The worst bench in the history of CAFC? Harness, Elewere and Ghandour ended up with two career starts at League 1 level between them and Davison has managed just two career goals in the division, Watson's legs at 35 had gone and it was Pearce's last season too.1
-
The forgotten man in all this is a certain young Romanian lawyer called Marian Mihail, who was the brains behind the Sandgaard clever buyout from the ESI crooks of the asset of the football club, rather than the whole company, which circumvented the injunction imposed (badly written) by a certain C Farnell.Mihail is a decent man, CAST member at the time, who appreciated what a football club means to the likes of us.I had several face to face meetings with Sandgaard. Had high hopes initially as I like to see the best in people. But we soon fell out over “math” ie what the numbers - past and present - meant and ultimately what this football club means to those of us who care about it. I doubt he gives Charlton a passing thought these days.34

That defence is diabolical, most of the first team pretty quickly dropped levels.2 -
The whole Covid thing made it a weird time for everybody let alone someone running a football club. I’d like to get his story sometime.2
