I'm finished for the year, I played Portmarnock last month to pre-keep my Open rota complete. They reckon they'll get it in 2032.It most reminds of Carnoustie, a bit prettier and hillier and without the late drama. It's certainly good enough to host. It has extra tricky, fast greens for a links as well.0

When I was a kid we used to ride our bikes round the edge of a golf course when on holiday.
There was an uphill par 3 where those playing could only see the top of the flag.
Occasionally when a shot went somewhere near the hole, we would run out onto the green and put the ball in the hole, then ride off into the trees and wait for the yells of delight.
We did not know then the consequences of what we had done.
I would like to formally apologise to anyone on here who may have celebrated a hole in one at Worthing Golf Club circa 1969/70. You may now cut your club tie in half!8 -
Played the “2nd” course, Dye Valley, at TPC Sawgrass yesterday. 22 points 😂. It was unbelievable though, it looked like a video game.
Currently sat having breakfast in the clubhouse and then going out to play the TV course. Legs like jelly but just going to enjoy the experience.

Apologies for deflating the thread but one of the two kids, a six-year-old lad, who were trapped by a collapsed wall at the Sidcup Golf Centre, has died. I cannot comprehend what the lad's family is going through. Absolutely heartbreaking. The other child, a five-year-old girl, has thankfully been released from hospital.
