Sounds like he’s highly rated just injury prone. Obviously no championship experience but if he’s been given minutes with Liverpool’s first team then we know he has some quality about him. I hope the fans give him a chance and don’t write him off too quickly given the frustrations with the team as of late. I do think just to be safe we should look to get another LB/LWB. If he gets injured we’re back to square one.14

I can't remember where I read it, probably one of the numerous Wrexham centred pieces that the Athletic thinks I might want to read, but I'm pretty sure Wrexham were/are in the market for a left wing back, which is probably making things somewhat more complicated.ForeverAddickted said:
Who then - Will his club let him join us, will they have cover themselves? - You make it sound so simpleWillmoreTheRed said:
Maybe someone who’s played some championship football even just a game or two would be nice.ForeverAddickted said:
Ideally we need a second Left-Back in, just to be safe, but what did you seriously expect this month?WillmoreTheRed said:Played 12 games for Wigan last year. 21 year old. Feels like a huge gamble, hope he’s just the back up.3 -
This is Anfield article from November
Liverpool left-back targeting return from recurring injury after 8 months out
Liverpool left-back Luke Chambers is nearing a return after spending the majority of the year out with a back injury that has troubled the 21-year-old’s development.
It is nearly two years since Chambers was in Liverpool’s first-team squad, with a role on the bench in the 2-0 FA Cup win over Arsenal in January 2024 his last matchday involvement.
The left-back has taken in two consecutive spells on loan at Wigan since then, but a season-long return to the Latics in the last campaign ended early.
Suffering a persistent back issue, Chambers returned to Liverpool for treatment in March and has not featured in any capacity since.
But This Is Anfield understands he could now be in line for a return before the end of the year, with optimism over his recovery.
Liverpool planning behind-closed-doors friendlies
Any involvement would be with the U21s, who do not have another competitive fixture until January 9 but are set to schedule a number of friendlies in the final weeks of 2025.
“We’ve got a few friendlies planned in December. We’ve got some opportunities and windows to play, which we will do,” U21s head coach Rob Page told the club’s official website.
“It’s important we give the lads minutes. Some will be trying to push to get out on loan in January so they’ll be important games for us.
“We’ll have a couple of days to sit back and reflect and then organise friendlies when we need them.”
Chambers’ game time will be carefully managed whenever he is deemed fit to return, having missed an initial five months with the same back injury before briefly returning for Wigan and then suffering a new eight-month layoff.

Welcome Luke. No hint in his quote that he might not be fit, "We’ve obviously got a big game on Saturday, so I’m looking forward to playing in front of the fans and showing them what I’ve got".AFKABartram said:Was out for 9 months till 18th December with a back injury, but played half hour then & a couple of U21 games since. Did 60 mins on Saturday
Then again, we've not seen Roussillon yet.5 -

Was hoping for someone with some Championship experience but hey ho needs must and at least we have a LWB through the door. Let’s hope he can hit the ground running. Welcome Luke and good luck.7

He must be decent to still be at Liverpool @ 21, but the injuries are a concern. We absolutely have to get somebody else in on top - knowing our luck, he’ll break down the first game after the window shuts.3

From Wiki
He also impressed Liverpool first team left-back Kostas Tsimikas who said "This kid [Chambers] impresses me a lot. He's a very, very good player and always very focused in the training. For me, my personal advice for him is to never stop dreaming and never stop working hard, because in football that's the most important [thing]. I'm really sure the future is bright for him."12 -
Happy to see a left back in the building but really didn't think he looked very good when we played Wigan last season, no statistical analysis or anything just the eye test but I seem to remember Gas targeting him a little and having some joy which does worry me, let's hope he's better in a better side, and maybe he gets on better with the long ball style we play as opposed to the tippy tappy stuff Maloney tried and failed to implement at Wigan

FM says he can play CB as well as LB/LWB. Could be useful.4
