If we were to sell one player at the end of the season he’d be the last one I want gone .
Effort , energy, aggression, will to win and battle on top of his undoubted ability , just hope he keeps his fitness and this is some player we have on our hands make no mistake .
  • Set for his 100th league appearance for Charlton next weekend.

So glad he signed that 3 year deal in the summer, still only 22 and loads of room to improve.

He is having more trust in his body, which is showing in his performances, the goal should up his confidence levels also. We just need to supply the bullets for him and Kelman more often.

I don't think that it's any coincidence that both Leaburn and Kelman have looked better as individuals when playing in the same side.

The stats bear that out too. These are the only times the pair have been on the pitch at the same time:

    Leicester (H) - 11 mins
    QPR (A) - 21 mins
    Preston (A) - 11 mins
    Hull (A) - 20 mins (1 goal - Berry)
    Swansea (H) - 23 mins (1 goal -Kelman)
    Oxford (H) - 29 mins (1 goal - Kelman)
    Portsmouth (A) - 90 mins (1 goal - Knibbs)
    Coventry (H) - 88 mins (1 goal - Rankin-Costello)
    Blackburn (A) - 78 mins (2 goals - Kelman both)
    Chelsea (H) - 66 mins (1 goal - Leaburn)

So, they've been on the pitch at the same time for a total of 437 mins  during which time the team has scored 8 goals (of which 5 have come from either Kelman or Leaburn) and that's about 1.65 goals a game on average. In the Championship, we have averaged 0.86 when one, other or neither have been on the pitch.

Too often Leaburn and Kelman have looked isolated when playing on their own. The formation doesn't have to be 4-4-2, we just need the two of them to occupy the opposition CBs and supporting each other rather than one on top on his own.

Jones is the manager that's why he drops players randomly, omits them from the squad occasionally and then forgets about them when their on the bench, apter being the case in point aswell gives him a token match day squad spot but never gives him a minute.

Was surprised he didn't come on would've thought he'd give us a bit of a presence up front which was lacking. Instead Kelman came on and did fuck all

Had his shirt on to come on at the corner where they scored the second goal.

What and then Godden came on for JRC instead? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t get Godden coming on over Leaburn, we needed more height and physicality up front, not a second poacher.

I’m struggling to see the point of having both Godden and Kelman on the bench let alone having them both on the pitch

I’m hoping Dykes’ performances will open the eyes of some to how hard the role Leaburn is asked to play is. He does it admirably, especially for someone of his age and experience. He was improving week on week before LD turned up. Hope he is back in the team next week.

Can’t understand why he’s been dropped or why he didn’t come on today. Leaburn and TC/Kelman should be the front 2

Bringing on a 3rd striker at that stage was crazy anyway.

Too often our bench this season seems to have been chosen to incorporate big names and signings, than because they were needed.

Now Godden is back, NJ almost feels obliged to bring him on, whether he's actually needed on the pitch or not. That's 2 games running where we've finished with Kelman and Godden on the pitch together. But no Apter, someone who might provide some ammunition to the strikers.

Jones has been found out .  Nobody denies our squad isn’t great but we shouldn’t be losing 4-0 there .

It's weird.  Leaburn was having the best form of his season. Now he is dropped.  Kelman picked up form.. and was dropped.  Costello was out best player for a couple of games... and was dropped.
    I just don't get it.

Shouldn’t we? who in our squad besides Lloyd Jones gets remotely close to getting into that Millwall XI, absolutely the effort was unacceptable today but our team is pants for this level

Tbf again thought dykes was quality
  • Maybe today was resting Leaburn as he has worked hard recently so might have done it. Dykes not to say he had the best game but he kept running for the 90 mins. NJ just managing his minutes I assume.

All of them, probably the only way we were going to win yesterday.

He didn’t win a header all match and he barely touched the ball. I thought he was a largely almost entirely anonymous presence and Leaburn should have come on for him
  • Yeah I'm not sure why we've brought in Dykes to play over a youth product who we can give minutes to get better to or show that he can play at championship level and find a buyer.

We have lots of strikers and one fit LWB. Crazy.

Miles would start every game for me if fit. Rest him when he needs it, obvs. But him going behind Dykes is really dumb from so many perspectives.

Leaburn over Dykes for me. Other than the header for Carey's goal I have not been impressed with Dykes. Leaburn had just been hitting some form. Yesterday I can't recall Dykes winning a header or causing any kind of challenge for Millwalls defence

He won 7 aerial duels yesterday. The issue was we forced him to make 21 of them. I do agree Leaburn should have been given at least 30 mins

I thought Dykes up against the giants gave it a good go and was getting stuck in a lot more than the other Fanny’s out there , trying to feed off fuck all with our non attacking crabs offering nothing except TC
Leaburn deffo a better choice at this point but Dykes to me was one of our better performers (Which isn’t saying anything with that shower of shit )

It wasn't through lack of effort he didn't win anything, he challenged all the time but their CBs were huge.

The tactics of smash it long to two huge CBs was pathetic.  Not bringing on the equally huge Leaburn was bewildering.

Other than when we was clean through on goal and got off a shot and Fullah put in the rebound for a perfectly good goal?
