Against big center backs he wilts, that may well be why he was not brought on yesterday.Athletico Charlton said:oohaahmortimer said:I thought Dykes up against the giants gave it a good go and was getting stuck in a lot more than the other Fanny’s out there , trying to feed off fuck all with our non attacking crabs offering nothing except TC
Leaburn deffo a better choice at this point but Dykes to me was one of our better performers (Which isn’t saying anything with that shower of shit )
It wasn't through lack of effort he didn't win anything, he challenged all the time but their CBs were huge.
The tactics of smash it long to two huge CBs was pathetic. Not bringing on the equally huge Leaburn was bewildering.1 -

Just as Godden comes back.0

Hopefully just precautionary.Scoham said:https://x.com/louismend/status/2017608204310503570?s=46&t=A-w3Eq0EWWpjMxring904QSeen with his arm in a sling
Was superb today.
Becoming a decent championship striker.11 -
Depending how bad that shoulder is could be him out for the season hopefully only something minor0

I've always thought Miles looks good alongside a target man, rather than being used as the big lump up front. He first came through on the right of attack, when Stockley was the number 9.
Today Leicester couldn't cope with him. The red card came because of his strength and good enough pace, that's what makes him at his best so valuable.9 -
If Miles is out for a length of time, you can only say he gets some bad luck that stops him just as it all nearly clicks into place. Fingers crossed!5

Injury nothing serious, in training, but might not make QPR tomorrow night.

Shame, but we do have 6 games to consider/rotate players during February, so best he isn't rushed.6

Dykes joined just at the right time.Scoham said:Injury nothing serious, in training, but might not make QPR tomorrow night.
Can give Miles the time to recover.12 -
Good news then that he's training I reckon he will make the bench as a precaution.3
-
Don't rush him but would be great if he is fit. I think he is going to have a stunning end to the season and be a huge player next year... Hopefully still for us.12
-
He's much more physical and aggressive in games now, great to see.13

Great news!1

Needed him today Kelman and Godden are great in front of goal but when you have games like today where it’s more about battles that’s where you want Leaburn6
-
Expecting him back for the Stoke game next week7
-
Yep dykes played his part but with leaburn up there too it would have made a difference,I was impressed with their centreback tbh.Crispywood said:Needed him today Kelman and Godden are great in front of goal but when you have games like today where it’s more about battles that’s where you want Leaburn1 -

You always wonder could it have been different but I feel like QPR’s centre backs were very good and might have done an ok job containing tonight, had he started. At that point, the feeling might’ve been that we “knew” Dykes and Leaburn doesn’t work together, Leicester was a lucky one off and we need Kelman or Godden to pose a different threat.
Sometimes you just commend the opposition on a good performance.0 -
Anybody see him at the Valley yesterday? If not, wouldn't be surprised that the injury is being downplayed.0
-
Don’t see the reason why it would be downplayed, in the January window would make loads of sense right now theres really no harm saying it how it is_uptheaddicks said:Anybody see him at the Valley yesterday? If not, wouldn't be surprised that the injury is being downplayed.0 -
"Miles is getting stronger every day really," Jones said. "We brought him back early - it's a shoulder injury that could take anything from three to six weeks and he's come back after just under three, so he's done very, very well and every day he's getting stronger.
It would have been absolutely fine to play TC or Kelman with Dykes against Portsmouth. With Godden out, why not take a sensible approach to avoid ending up with only two fit forwards for the run‑in? I can't understand that thinking.

The only thing I can think is that Leaburn has spent a lot of time out with injuries that have taken longer than expected to heal so it must have been a nice boost to recover quickly. Of course, all of that gets undone if he gets re injured during the gamemendonca said:"Miles is getting stronger every day really," Jones said. Leaburn also played like he was a week or 2 away from returning. Shouldn’t have started the gamemendonca said:"Miles is getting stronger every day really," Jones said. We didn’t really see a benefit of the early return.0
