I’d take Dillon Phillips over both of them to be honest. Wonder if he’d fancy coming home!?0

That's why a lot of teams have a player lie down behind the wall. I don't know why we didn't.guinnessaddick said:
Hang on, are you both saying that players in the wall will always jump? If so any low free kick beats the wall if directed at it.Garrymanilow said:
Why didn't Lloyd Jones, the largest of the Charlton players, simply eat the Bristol players?Leuth said:

Personally I find criticism of both Kaminsky and Mannion a bit over the top. For me both keepers are fine to go with again next season that's probably the least of our concerns with other areas of the pitch in need of vast improvement first (CM maybe 2 x CM, LWB, RWB, ST, LCB)Athletico Charlton said:Mannion had a poor game yesterday, dropped a cross very early too. That goal is horrific although also notable that their player followed up whilst Doc stood still. Neither of our keeper options are good enough. Arguing over which one is better is a bit pointless imo
Maybe when Mannion's contract expires end of next season is the right time to look for a new 1st choice keeper, until then Kaminsky is fine with Mannion backup.

Have to say that was right up there with goalkeeping clangers this season, but Kaminski still leads the way in soft goals conceded. Clever free kick, but seemed a routine save. He made a mess of it. It happens. I think Jones will put Kaminski back in for Monday.0

Don't rate Kaminski, and I don't see why anyone automatically would just because his counterpart made a mistake1

Considering Rotherham weren't very keen on having him back and they are on their way to League 2, I'd imagine he'd love to be a number one in a Championship team. But we can do better.TomCAFC said:I’d take Dillon Phillips over both of them to be honest. Wonder if he’d fancy coming home!?2 -
Sorry but a big no from me. His time here has long goneTomCAFC said:I’d take Dillon Phillips over both of them to be honest. Wonder if he’d fancy coming home!?3 -
We looked asleep for their first goal to be fair.HastingsRed said:

I’d hope our scouting network stretches beyond our ex-players. At least to Luton.TomCAFC said:I’d take Dillon Phillips over both of them to be honest. Wonder if he’d fancy coming home!?5 -
Bad from Mannion yesterday but still think keeper is the second least of our problems, after centre backs. If we actually scored more than once in a game, the small number of clangers from our keepers wouldn't have a material effect.6

Would have loved him to nod in from one of the corners he came up for at the end1

Surprised at that. I think our ‘keepers are some of the worst in the division based on what I’ve seen. Kaminski is superior to Mannion, but I don’t think either would make many starting XI’s in the Championship. We’re fortunate that we (normally) have a strong defence in front of them which is really responsible for most of the clean sheets we’ve picked up.RC_CAFC said:Every keeper drops the occasional clanger, it goes with the job (yesterday’s was an almighty one that cost a winning goal but it’s still just a clanger). You’re far better to judge them on their standard of play.
FWIW I actually think we’re pretty lucky with both our keepers. I prefer Mannion and think he was very unlucky to lose his place at the start of this season. I’d still very happily go into next season with those two if it meant sorting out our midfield and attack properly.Get Kaminski back in for the remainder of the season and look to upgrade in the summer.2 -
They certainly aren't some of the worst in the division overall. The defence is only strong if they have some level of faith in the keeper behind them, it all works as a unit - the keeper is part of the defence, not separate.se9addick said:

If we were to upgrade it would be for a keeper who can be a bit more flexible and start attacks from the back that aren't kicking the ball 70 yards at Dykes head.0 -
I'd say GK is the least of our worries, we need to upgrade on Gillesphey at LCB if we can move him on.crookester said:Bad from Mannion yesterday but still think keeper is the second least of our problems, after centre backs. Yes a terrible bit of keeping and it would be daft to say otherwise.Southendaddick said:In fuck ups to games ratio Kaminski is winning by a landslide
So predictable people are getting on his case after one ….
However, that was his first clanger of the season so he's got about another half dozen clangers before he catches up with Kaminski.2 -
Like 20k Kaminksi hasn’t made errors .
This is very much like my childhood of Salmon vs Patterson vs Ilic; hopefully there’s a Kiely around the corner . For free .6 -
Se9 I agree with , our keepers look poor compared to most of the oppos this season .Definitely need upgrading like most of the team0
-
Keeper does need improving but I’d happily sacrifice the position this year if it means we get some good midfielders in all comes down to our budget and our ability to shift Kaminski.2
-
I like the look of the Stockport keeper.2

That's as good a display of goalkeeping I've seen from one of our keepers for a long time.
Hope it puts to bed he's not good enough once and for all.12 -
Made up for the Bristol city game that’s for sure was very good today5
-
Absolutely outstanding today9
-
Best game for us. Pleased it's come after his error.5

Every keeper makes a clanger once in a while, it's how you react and he was superb today - best keeping performance of the season.13
-
What a game. Would love to know what the final score would have been with Kaminski between the sticks...
Mammoth performance from WM.2 -
Even the best goalkeepers make mistakes.2

I know there were a few questions when Kaminski was initially dropped but earned the starting spot now until the end of the season with that performance.
Would still prefer a new keeper in the summer but can't fault Mannion today.0
