A beautiful pint of well kept beer in The Plume on Thursday (1 of 6).
Had some more yesterday, every bit as good. It's a perfect example of English bitter at its best

This looks dreadful but I really enjoyed it. A pastry sour offset by plenty of fruit from strawberries, blackberries, vanilla and blackcurrants. Nicely balanced and not too sour.

Lovely pint of Tom’s Tap & Brewhouse Dark Mild at the Green Goddess. Very smooth and a gentle 3.8% to start the day. First time here - I know it’s early but I expected it to be busier.

I just hope the footballs as good later today.

That stuff is hard work - I quite like the first few mouthfuls, but I find it really hard to finish a bottle (Schlenkerla).  It just ends up being overpowering.

Because of tablets I'm on it's been zero beers and ciders for me for a year now. Some ok zero lagers out there. Was in Valletta last week and there local brew Cisk did a decent zero lager. Some decent zero ciders around too, better than the lagers in my opinion. Any recommendations?

Guinness zero is very good. The Adnam's zero (Ghost Ship?) is drinkable. Can't comment on lagers.

    I’d genuinely prefer a pint of Fosters…

Back in Boston after watching that shambles on Saturday.  Pre-game drinking before the Bruins final regular season game. Beers a bit more expensive than in the Green Goddess.

Cantillon Classic Geueze - absolutely marvelous, perfect for the 24c day we’re having, watching the world go by with the windows open. Just $22 for 10oz - I make that just over £30 a pint

Had some lovely beers in Nashville last week. Homestyle, an IPA from the Bearded Irish brewery is my favourite (took this photo on a previous trip as I didn’t get one this time round!):

Introducing Harbour Master…a very satisfying taster when driving around Tasmania.

Warming up for Zwanze Day, and ran into this beauty. Maine Beer Company - Black Barn Res IPA. 7% , nice bitterness, which has gone missing in recent years with all the NEIPAs. Very drinkable.

Drie Fonteinen Cuvée Armand & Gaston, Blend 80, 2017/2018. Amazing stuff, not particularly sour, but funky with a lemony sweetness. Super drinkable @ 6.5%.

To celebrate today’s victory, and In anticipation of Zwanze pours at 3pm, a warm up Cantillon Classic Gueuze. Nice and sour.

Never mind all these foreign / fruity / murky ales. Here’s a proper amber bitter brewed in Knockholt. And with a name like that, they’ve got to get some barrels down The Valley for next season.
It’s not unlike Harvey’s Sussex or London Pride. Lovely.

On sale in M&S so grabbed it randomly. Very nice indeed. Siren always seems to do decent beer.

Nothing like some violent Dutch stuff to BYO to your local pizza joint
