Such a bonkers division. Pompey looked shot a few weeks ago then beat 2 of the top 4 in consecutive games. Dont think we can really say any top side should beat one of the bottom sides based on recent games. Still in our hands but its typical it looks like a high points total this season for whoever gets that 3rd relegation spot.4

I am actually fascinated to see if we get some fighting talk and a performance that reflects the magnitude of the game.
There can be no better game in theory for the players to really show what they are all about.
Pre game interviews will be interesting.
Just imagine if we went absolutely charging in at them from minute one, grabbed control of the game. Would change the entire feeling in the away end.7 -

Rather Pompey beat Leicester now to really finish them off and then it is only Oxford we need to worry about, with Blackburn and WBA there as a buffer.
Been said on here a million times the last 48 hours but if we don't get 3 points on Saturday it is severe panic stations, our last chance to give our fans some sort of relaxed enjoyment for the last few games otherwise it will be torture.

Would rather Pompey stayed up and at least gave us another local ish away day! Given the 3 sides coming up could all be treks.
Also another side that are never going to push the boat out financially even to what we spend. Really impressive Mousinho keeps them competitive on a tiny budget, although I guess there's always that nagging feeling that someone with more finances than Pompey will come after him3 -

Best chance of a big win like that is via a textbook away smash and grab. At home - we are just not set up to create enough chances and score enough goals
We got away with it at their place but they could have been out of sight in the first half. Not sure that we can do it again.
They didn't like the pressure that Pompey put them under and players like Clarke and Nunez looked terrible.
Ipswich certainly didn't look anywhere as good as Southampton or even Norwch.1 -

Unless you counting 12:30 kick offs as a game in hand.*- Us and Oxford have played 42 games, they play Wrexham on the 21st (so we have a game in hand for about a day on them)

The difference is Pompey never stopped fighting to stay up where Leicester haven't ever looked up for the fight. It looked dreadful for Pompey after the defeat to QPR but Pompey had 20 shots in that game.DamoNorthStand said:

We similarly lack quality, but haven't seen us play with vigour (bar the odd ten minutes) for ages. I think we'll be relying on other teams having bad results.
Maybe my mood is still just a hangover from being there Saturday, but even with a clear head, the trajectory doesn't look good. I imagine we will be nervous Saturday.
It hasn't been NJ's finest month in charge for sure.

Not the same. For Leicester to overtake us they need to win 3 of the next 4 having not won any of their last 5, and that's assuming we get no points from any of our last games at all.DamoNorthStand said:

Oxford could maybe do it but 5pts from 4 games would be one hell of a turn around.
Portsmouth are the "form team" of the relegation battle but its not us who will be dragged down but Blackburn on current evidence1 -

Pompey are a strange one. Looked really good when they won 3-1 and The Valley and The Den consecutively, but then go on a terrible run. Somehow nick a goal to win on Saturday, and are now reinvigorated.
What's shocking about tonight's result, as it wasn't Ipswich battering Pompey, but somehow failing to score due to bad luck or finishing or the opposition keeper having a worldie. Pompey had the better xG and were the better team.
By contrast in the other game, Soton had xG of 2.52 to Blackburn's 0.26. That's proper promotion form.3 -
The 19/20 season has broken me and I have never recovered. I fear the worst but hope for the best. Proper must not lose game Saturday.5
