Might not be making Day 3 at this rate0

Chucking it away as usual0

Bang! Bang! Bang!
Gay, Brook and Root gone in the space of just one run.

Think that's harsh. This pitch is minefieldSteven81 said:Chucking it away as usual1 -
NZ realising that with the uneven bounce and jagged movement, you need to aim at the stumps.
Especially with their poor catching!1 -
Yeah it's not great but they both fell over in the crease maybe being harsh, truePelling1993 said:

Stokes owes this team a lot of runs. Hopefully he can start today.3

And another! Stokes gone. Remarkable.1

Stokes bowled and that's four wickets lost for one run0 -

Yeah nice one Ben!0

Stokes' ability to make balls that do nothing look unplayable is remarkable.4

As much as this is an awful pitch, sometimes it can get in the heads of a batter and they then end up playing tentatively. That's what Stokes did there.3
-
Think this one is going to be impossible to judge performance until there's a result, entirely possible the Kiwis get scuttled but equally that they chase easily0
-
It's like watching a rerun of the Perth test!0
-
Stokes is a busted flush at this level.2
-
With the news that ECB are losing a load of money this summer i'm sure they're thrilled at the prospect of a 2.5 day test match!1

Listened to Test Match Special earlier; they were saying how this Test almost mirrors the 1at Ashes Test last winter in Perth.Steven81 said:Chucking it away as usual
At lunch on the 2nd Day in Perth England were 100 ahead with just 1 wicket down after both teams first innings being in the 130's.
After lunch we collapsed, so much so Oz won that evening by 8 wickets having chased down 220-odd.
History repeating itself ??

Good job we read the pitch right. Bashir's batting and bowling could be invaluable on the fifth day.5

Apart from pitching outside leg, how many sets of stumps do we think that delivery would have missed?2

Don't knock his runs in the first innings, in a low scoring game they could be crucial and he's outscored Root and StokesAddick Addict said:Good job we read the pitch right. Bashir's batting and bowling could be invaluable on the fifth day.0 -
They could be crucial. But I'm prepared to wager they won't. Now, if he were to get another 20 or so in the second innings then that might be different.fenaddick said:

£12m to redo the square at Lord is crazy0

It's not been a good track for a couple of years now, seems like something is wrong with itPelling1993 said:£12m to redo the square at Lord is crazy0 -
It’s what happens when you play a match at a club ground…2

That was including lost revenue so actual cost will be lowerPelling1993 said:£12m to redo the square at Lord is crazy0 -
14 byes now in this innings. Blundell not having a good day behind the stumps.0
