Dangerous play from the Bosnian keeper? Going for a ball like that knowing you'll punch a guy in the head?
If that was an outfield player wining the ball and going through the player, a free kick / pen would be given.

Absolutely entitled to go for it and he got there first

I've no idea about some of the laws these days.
Plenty of times this season a player gets the ball first, then cleans out the player and it's been given as a foul (unlike years ago).
In this instance, goalie gets the ball, then cleans out the player & it's not a foul.

That's not the law, though, where dangerous play is concerned. A defender can win a header but if he forearms the forward in the face as he jumps across him, it's still a foul.

Surprised Millar is only 26, seems like a hundred years ago that he played for us

Enjoying the game as a neutral.  Lots of energy and end to end.  Liam Millar having a better game than he did at the Valley.

I don't think this goalkeeper is particularly confident when the ball is in the air

Canada was quite heavily colonised by the Scottish.

He won't get penalised for heading the ball away if he follows through on the attacker's head. And that's the analogous situation with a goalkeepers punch

Did one of those myself once and to this day I've no idea how I managed it

Offside, so basically a free hit.

There's a lot to like about Canada. They play with vim and vigour and play some lovely stuff at times. Whenever I watch them, though, they always come off a bit naive and just short of that genuine quality which means they often come up short when they play a more established footballing nation from Europe or S.America. A bit like Japan and S.Korea 20 years ago. This game is a bit reminiscent of the Korea vs. Czechia game last night.

Because Bosnia have scored one goal and Canada haven’t scored any.

Not sure I agree with that. If the goalie tried to head the ball then he's equally likely to get hurt if they collide. By going with his fists he's extending a part of his body that means he's protected but the forward will still get hurt if they collide. I'd say him punching the ball is more analogous to a defender going for a loose ball like that with his foot, but that also is not exactly equitable to the goalie's punch.

I would say it's certainly a bit of a grey area. Back in the 90s there would've been no issue, but it's a bit different now.
