  • About to grab the 160 box of Yorkshire tea bags when i noticed the 80 boxes were on sale.  Two of them were cheaper than the larger box.  Huh one to me I think.  The 20p saving gave me more pleasure than it should have.  A small win maybe, but I don't get many :|

I don't know about other supermarkets, but ASDA are bastards for doing that. Essentially ripping-off anyone who assumes that bulk buying is cheaper. It's one for my things I hate list. Well done for seeing through their little trick.

FMCG pricing architecture and SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) planning will be the driver here, rather than an attempt to rip people off.

It might not make a lot of sense, but there is likely to be planning behind it. What I would say about ASDA (and all other UK supermarkets) is that they are certainly not in the market of "ripping people off" - in fact its the opposite. If you are a supplier on the other hand...
  • Got my 1,000th Charlton Life lol yesterday. It's only taken me four months shy of 20 years to get there. I either don't post enough or I'm just not that funny. That's a solitary lol a week on average.

Queuing in the chemist with a pack of tena ladies in my hand .
Some smartarse made a comment about me being of an age that requires them, deliberately loud to raise a few sniggers in the queue.
Trying to think of a quick comeback when I was called to pay because others were waiting on prescriptions, I noticed a damp patch on the groin of the guy’s trousers.
I turned to leave the shop and stopped pointing to the tena men, calling back “mate your 20+ years younger than me, best you look at the front of your strides”

Went to Day Fever for the 1st time on Saturday with missus and friends.

Great music from 70s, 80s & 90s, everybody there with the intention of enjoying themselves, great venue…a little bit of escapism for 5 hours and home by 9:30pm.

The introduction of Pine Martens into English forests have shown in every case to be of benefit to red squirrels  ... and not so good for the heavier less mobile grey squirrels.

My local team Imortal Albufeira winning the Algarve league championship with two games to spare. They are in the final of the Algarve cup too.

Also, Benfica going the whole season unbeaten, and still finishing third.  :D

My wife. Had a bbq yesterday (for my birthday today) so was feeling a little delicate this morning.

Had a lie in this morning, while she went out with my daughter for a few bits and brought me a coffee back.

Let me flop out in the garden after planting a few bits this afternoon, then watch football with a few beers, while she made a lovely focaccia bread which she’s just brought in.

  • I'd noticed that my steam iron had stopped steaming during ironing, (although it was still able to gush out steam when the button was pushed).  AI told me to check the tiny hole in the cover where you pour the water.  I didn't even know there was one there, but I stuck a pin in gave it a wiggle and underneath did the same - there is a membrane there with an off centre hole - and now the iron is a worker!

The actual fix took 10 seconds.

That just feels good somehow and I doubt the orange one will want to reveal too mufch about himself,

Just looking at the news online and spotted stuff on tomorrow’s by election. The under a minute manifestos for the smaller candidates made me smile. Count bin face, raving loony, some old bloke going on about nuclear study and a fox.
