Petition to prohibit publishers from disabling video games they have already sold.

    Worth signing.

Really disliked GTA5. played it and gave it away soon afterwards.

In terms of enjoyment I rate rockstar games that I've played like this..

    RDR 2
    GTA San Andreas
    GTA vice city
    The warriors
    Max Payne
    GTA 2
    Bully
    GTA 3
    GTA London
    GTA 5
    GTA 1
    Manhunt
    Earth worm Jim 3

GTA V was an absolute masterpiece IMO. Surprised you don't rate it. It was the best game i had ever played until RDR2 which raised the bar even higher. The expectation for GTAVI is going to be insane. Anything less than the best game ever made will disappoint a lot of people.

I think it just felt too realistic/modern in certain ways for me. Which GTA 6 will be as well. for example the first 4 games i listed are all nostalgic pieces. wild west, 1980s Miami, 1990s LA, and late 70s New York. it made them more fun to be in their respected worlds. I'm not saying GTA 5 wasn't good and I shouldn't have said "really disliked it" it's just I didn't enjoy it as much.
It's funny you mention the realism of GTA 5, because it was actually a step away from realism compared to GTA4. The physics in GTA4 was scary good.

I agree, especially the driving and the cars. More realistic.

GTA 4 was really good and it also had other decent downloadable single player stories.

I wasn't a fan of the Russian protagonist and its shame you couldn't fly planes. They were the main downsides.

I recently did some work on Death Stranding 2 and Directive 8020; both look as though they have the potential to be great games, especially if you're into your sci-fi.

Looking for a cheap 2nd hand switch if anyone has recently upgraded to the switch 2 and is wanting to sell one, will look on ebay but thought I'd mention it here too.

I've bought Metal gear v and Ace combat 7 for my Steam deck  B)

Might sign up to game pass and stream Starfield through it, cloud gaming works really well I find but you do need a good Internet connection
Ah a fellow Steam Deck owner! How are you finding it?

    Not an upcoming game

But just completed Vampyr on PS5

Got the game when I had a PS4 but never got around to playing it so downloaded it when I got a PS5 and have to say it's one of the best games I have ever played, if you haven't played it yet I would advise you to play it

I tried Vampyr for maybe about 20 minutes when I got my PS5, probably one to give another chance at some point.

The makers of Vampyr also made Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, it’s another one I might try as it has some decent reviews.

For new games I’m looking forward to Resident Evil 9, the recent trailer shows (now much older) Leon Kennedy is playable.

007 First Light looks promising, could fill the gap left by Uncharted.

Was interesting to see there’s two new Tomb Raider games coming, next year a remake of the original, and another in 2027.

The one I really want is the third and final part of the FFVII remake series. Sounds like the title could be confirmed and hopefully with that a release date.

Yeah I may look at Banishers myself @Scoham when I was looking to see if they were planning a Vampyr 2 I saw Banishers mentioned and apparently it's in the same universe (despite being set about 200 years before Vampyr) but it is apparently the same universe with some connecting Lore and references

Loving Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Even the janky combat has its charm.

007 looks good, a mix of the great worlds that IOI put together for Hitman, with more arcade-y action stuff and set pieces like Uncharted

I'm keeping optimistic about the 007 game.. my worry is it turns out like Hitman: absolution, hope they get the balance a bit better between Hitman style areas and the action areas.

Yep. A new Splinter Cell would be great too. Was a brilliant game.

Don't really have time to do gaming much. Last game I played through to completion was Control - which was right up there with Portal 2 for me - so looking forward to Control Resonant, which looks amazing

Obviously not new, but a remake of the original splinter cell is being made

Anyone on here played 007 First Light? Really good game IMO, plays like a mix of Hitman and Uncharted, with a decent chunk of action revolving around multiple big sequences in very cool locations that feel like they belong in Bond lore.

I’ll get on sale, love Uncharted so was one I was keeping an eye, was good to see a lot of positivity about it.

Seems to be more good single player games coming out and lined up this year and next year. Looking forward to FFVII part 3 and RE Veronica especially.

I absolutely adored Portal, but I haven’t played Control. Like you, I don’t get to play games too much.

When you say Control is up there with Portal, do you mean it’s a similar game or just that you enjoyed it about as much?
And if it’s different, what sort of game is it?

Control isnt like Portal at all. Control is a third person action/adventure game very similar to Infamous or Quantum Break, Portal is a first person puzzle game. Control is excellent though, you should play it.

Enjoyed the main game greatly, struggling to want to work through TacSim and replays of main game for completion. Just doesn't feel as fun re-doing it as Hitman always is, even 10 years after WOA first came out. Lennie James was absolutely fantastic, though.

Yeah, very different game - it's combat oriented, but the story is just as good, and some of the set pieces in it are incredible. Honestly, I just played it again a couple of weeks ago, it's even better on the second play through.

I think once they add some DLC and other stuff to it, it'll be even better. Hitman took a few years for IOI to fully flesh out. I agree the replayability isn't huge right now, I feel the challenges could be highlighted a bit more, and some of the game still feels a bit too linear and obvious (graffiti arrows in Aleph literally show you the way to go at times) but it's a very solid base to work from, and the visuals are absolutely stunning IMO
