Arthur Fery through to the 3rd round.
responded well after losing the first set. Just beat the fin who beat Shelton the other day.

Great win. Been watching it on i-Player. Thought it would be on BBC1 or 2 once they were both showing Wimbledon but when I checked Swan's match was on both for some reason and it was close to him winning so I stayed on i-PlayerKarim_myBagheri said:Arthur Fery through to the 3rd round.

Swan beaten in straight sets.
Fery has had a good summer on the grass courts. Climbing up the rankings. Did well at Queens and Birmingham and on the verge of making the top 100.3 -

Feels like someone at the LTA didn't take kindly to his constructive criticism from a few years back.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:Dan Evans loses to Schoolkate in straight sets at Wimbledon qualifiers. Sad end to his career - surely deserved a wildcard?
I'm no fan of the LTA (going back to the time when my son was playing) but they've previously given him a singles wildcard at Wimbledon in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2025 (last year when aged 35). He's also been handed one in this year's doubles.
Evans is 36 now, has never got beyond the fourth round of any Grand Slam. So, perhaps, they've given one to a younger Brit instead in the hope that they will learn from the experience? In the same way that they did four times when Evans was between the ages of 19 and 24.
Had Evans been given a wildcard then Fery might have been the one to miss out on one. Instead Fery is in the third round.1 -
I doubt Fery would have missed out - there were plenty of lower ranked players who received them.Addick Addict said:Addick Addict said:SantaClaus said:

To be fair you made some good points with that post.1 -
Fearnley loses in straight sets and Choinski in four. Fery the sole British player to reach the third round.
