OK, what holidays are people planning for next year? For me -
week in Malta - May
week in Gallipoli - June (fingers crossed)
week in Cyprus - September

Bangkok to visit son and daughter-in-law early in the year
Bali for a long relaxing holiday mid-year
At least hopefully … had same plans this year but only managed Bangkok1 -
Malta, then Malta, then Malta again, and probably Malta (my eldest and his family are moving out there in September).Looking at Japan for a big holiday and also a road trip to the west coast of Scotland.0

All inclusive in Hurghada for 9 nights in February. Also 4 nights in Paris in June, the wife gets to go to Disney and I get to see Blink 182, win win.0

Gran Canaria in Feb HT for a week for a friends 50th, loads of us going.
then possibly somewhere in this country in the summer (hoping this summer weather isn’t a one off), not done Cornwall for a few years so maybe there0 -
January cruise (2 back to back) first 10 days Miami to Miami via various stops in the West Indies, 2nd portion 15 nights Miami to Los Angles via Panama Canal, which have been a life long ambition.2nd holiday which has come as a surprise is a wedding on the Gold Coast Australia in December still in the planning stage yet but will probably be 3 weeks and might stay in hotel or Airbnb type of accommodation, also meeting up with family out there who we haven’t seen for over 20 years.1

Have a wedding in Australia in October so that will likely consume entire financial and annual leave budget. Planning on doing 3 weeks as have never been to that area before. A week in Hong Kong a week in Oz and a week in NZ but will see how things look when planning. Much more desperate to see NZ and would love the opportunity to spend a couple of days in a small pacific island nation1

Mexico, at the end of May (not expecting us to be in the play-offs!), a few days in Mexico City to visit the Azteca and the Frida Kahlo museum, then a tour of 11 days that ends at Chichen Itza and Cancun. Liking the sound of the various food and drink options...1

New Zealand is beautiful we were there for 10 days last year and never got round to seeing the South Island. There are some beautiful isles within a few hour flight from either New Zealand or Australia ie Tonga, Fiji and isles in the New Caledonia group, we will be visiting for 5 weeks in late 2028 / early 2029 as part of a 101 night cruise.follett said:Have a wedding in Australia in October so that will likely consume entire financial and annual leave budget. Flights are expensive at the moment, my travel agent suggest it should be cheaper next year, but that was before they started chucking bombs about again.1 -

From experience, I'd get advice about visiting New Zealand for only 1 week as you are going to Australia. Personally I wouldn't do both on such a short trip. HK on hte way back makes more sense, but again personally, I'd cut a day off the week in HK and add it to Australia2 -

Fair enough. Appreciate the advice, have always wanted to go NZ but agree probably makes sense when I have longer. Hong Kong is to see and visit family otherwise I’d have completely skipped and made use of the full 3 weeks1

Murcia marathon in Feb, plus football & golf there.
Ho Chi Minh (for Cat Tien National Park), Sydney and Hanoi is my main holiday. I have timed it for Millwall at home, Charlton have a better chance of winning as I’ll be 10000 miles away.

So far the usual rockabilly weekend in Torremolinos in Feb, Berlin for a week at easter (tying in another rockabilly event) and a few days in the Cotswolds for a wedding in July. Waiting for Wizz Air to get their shit together and decide what their schedule will be next year and where they will be flying to from Faro.0

Still early days for me with my travel plans but…
I tip toe into 2027 in the Canaries (going for Christmas and New Year).
Very early January I’m going to Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania - then thinking of heading over to Mauritius from Tanzania.
To escape the cold I’m thinking of touring Asia; Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand or just Japan?

Still undecided how to start the camping season (end of May/ beginning of June).
Maybe a 4-5 week trip up to Scotland (we live in France so have to include France to Scotland back to France in those 4-5 weeks.
Or a trip to the Spanish Mediterranean coast.

Don't know if you are looking for hotels or just apartments, but we try to extend our summer by going to Spain for 7 to 8 weeks at a time in May/June and again from mid September to mid November and we always get good discounts on the apartments that we book.PrincessFiona said:

Definitely self-catering - we stay at villas about 3 or 4 times a year with their own pool etc. But I'm looking at stopping working early next year, so we can stay longer on the villa holidays (not necessarily on the others which are at hotels and city breaks).superclive98 said:

Like others have said regarding longer stays it’s cheaper going out of season. In Spain, we know the owner of the apartment and get a very good deal.In France, we know the letting agency but it’s not cheap but we like the apartment and its location.0

Yes, the figures I quoted were for March-May 'ish - much more expensive in July/August (but it's too bloody hot then anyway!)0
