Like others have said regarding longer stays it’s cheaper going out of season. In Spain, we know the owner of the apartment and get a very good deal.
In France, we know the letting agency but it’s not cheap but we like the apartment and its location.

Yes, the figures I quoted were for March-May 'ish - much more expensive in July/August (but it's too bloody hot then anyway!)
Agree about the heat…that’s why we leave France at the beginning of July and before the thermostat gets turned up to full blast.

Has anyone been to Diani Beach Kenya. I was talking to a friend last night who recommended the place for R&R after 3 weeks travelling. As my tour ends in either Arusha or Nairobi. I was thinking of going to Mauritius but that’s quite a schlep from Nairobi/Arusha.

Still early days for me with my travel plans but…

I tip toe into 2027 in the Canaries (going for Christmas and New Year).

Very early January I’m going to Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania - then thinking of heading over to Mauritius from Tanzania.

To escape the cold I’m thinking of touring Asia; Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand or just Japan?

    May: Wemberleee

The whole of June is in the South of France

    Summer in London.

The whole of October is in Spain.
if you go for a month to the South of France and Spain, may I ask about accommodation as going for more than the usual 1 to 2 week trips? Do get a better rate as staying for a month? We're thinking of starting to do longer stays of 1 to 3 months including Spain and France (defintitely not in any school holidays)
Don't know if you are looking for hotels or just apartments, but we try to extend our summer by going to Spain for 7 to 8 weeks at a time in  May/June and again from mid September to mid November and we always get good discounts on the apartments that we book.
Definitely self-catering - we stay at villas about 3 or 4 times a year with their own pool etc. But I'm looking at stopping working early next year, so we can stay longer on the villa holidays (not necessarily on the others which are at hotels and city breaks).
    This might be useful.

The first link lists hundreds and most of the properties link to one of the other two sites.

Two/Three bed Villas with pool - anywhere from £3k/£4k upwards per month.

I've used cozycozy.com a few times, they seem to consolidate most of the hotel booking sites as well as Vrbo and airbnb

Thanks. We get great deals, I was just wondering if you get better deals per week for 4 or more weeks

Oh yes, definitely out of season, we know that. But not Dec, Jan or Feb, even in the Canaries
