Just feels a bit 'Thierry Small', get a guy in a short term contract (rather than say 3 years), see him do well (hopefully) and then see him get a better offer elsewhere for next season.

If we are a million say short for JRS why can't we take it from next year's budget as we did with Sichenje last season I believe0

Not sure what to think about AO & so a loan deal is excellent in my mind. He probably wouldn't be No1 on our list if we were looking for a keeper at the start of June. It gives us a chance to look at him (and vice versa) and see where we are next summer. If he is anywhere decent we can sign him permanently then. If not he can leave.1

Or if he's outstanding for us he gets a move elsewhere and we are back to square one. I’d say that’s harsh. They spent big money on a fairly average keeper because that’s what they do - no because AO is weak.FishCostaFortune said:

So yes he is Wrexham’s third choice keeper.I’m not saying he is rubbish, just that I don’t think a loan deal is that bad because he’s clearly far from proven.

Wrexham, who then had a whole season of seeing him at this level, still saw this position as a weakness and spent big cash on another keeper making him 3rd choice keeper.
So whatever we think - he didn't prove himself to those in charge at Wrexham.
So I go back to my original point. I think having him on loan is much less of a risk than having him signed up on a long term contract when he is not proven at this level.
i believe he’ll be a step up on Mannion and Kamikazi and that’s all we can ask for. He won’t be perfect but perfection costs mega money but he’s only 24 so which, for a goalie, is young so he should improve.10 -
He's from Camden, so may want to stay in London. Or, next summer, we may not be able to afford him. It's certainly a risk. But for where we are as a club, I think it's a lesser risk to have him for this year, see how he does, and then if he does well offer him a contract next summer than to have him sign a three year deal on high wages only to have him be questionable and then be an albatross around our necks. As mentioned above, he's not entirely proven at Championship level.
The one difference to "being back where we started next season" is that we'll be there in May/June, and not in mid-August. Our need for a new GK is (arguably, depending on how one rates TK) a new emergence. The fact of the matter is there aren't a lot of GKs available at this stage of the window, and those that are tend to be reserve keepers on loan--which is exactly what we're getting. So next summer, we will need a new keeper, but we'll have the entire summer to do it, and if AO performs well, we'll probably have an offer into him at the start of the summer to try and convince him to stay.
Both ways of doing things present a risk, I think this is the lesser risk.6 -

Shouldnt lose sight of the profile of signing here. For my lad who is 18, its probably the one of theb biggest 'names' / most recognisable players his generation have ever seen us sign. Even if it is because of a Netflix show.
A low bar maybe, but does feel like we are turning a page. JRS next and the place will be bouncing next home game.13 -
