Not disagreeing with you, but we did have Conor Coady last year an England international.DamoNorthStand said:Shouldnt lose sight of the profile of signing here. For my lad who is 18, its probably the one of theb biggest 'names' / most recognisable players his generation have ever seen us sign. Even if it is because of a Netflix show.
A low bar maybe, but does feel like we are turning a page. JRS next and the place will be bouncing next home game.1 -

I’m ok with this one, has to be an upgrade on what we have , that’s all we can ask, I’ve had high hopes with Will Mannion but he’s not looked great of late, but not writing him off. Welcome big Art!!1

This summer has been the summer of Random ITK predictions coming true.
This been really entertaining too.

Said AO would be a loan 🤪3

What a wonderful signing, yes it's a loan, but one I believe will really us real stability.
We really need to get behind AO this will spur him onto the next level as he will have something to prove.
To me AO has always impressed when I've seen him at the valley🥅2 -
All I see is a better keeper [hopefully] than what we have.FishCostaFortune said:
The moment Wrexham got to this level they brought in another keeper to be number 1. That keeper ended up being injured so AO actually managed to play most of the season at this level.AberystwythAddick said:

But he was behind Ward until Ward got injured. And now Pattinson he is now behind Ward and Pattinson.AberystwythAddick said:
He played 39 games last season hardly a third choice keeperFishCostaFortune said:Lads, I understand AO might have a lot of upside and Wrexham have a different transfer/player development policy to us.
But with him being 3rd choice for them, surely it's more of a risk to get him on a long contract and he does not develop with us and we end up with a team of 2nd/3rd choice keepers on our book.
So yes he is Wrexham’s third choice keeper.I’m not saying he is rubbish, just that I don’t think a loan deal is that bad because he’s clearly far from proven.

I don’t know how he can be much more proven
Wrexham, who then had a whole season of seeing him at this level, still saw this position as a weakness and spent big cash on another keeper making him 3rd choice keeper.
So whatever we think - he didn't prove himself to those in charge at Wrexham.
So I go back to my original point. I think having him on loan is much less of a risk than having him signed up on a long term contract when he is not proven at this level.
i don’t care about Wrexham or think we can compete with teams like Wrexham at this point.
I get your point, but beggars can’t be choosers !1 -
I would say, based on current form that they are on a par with each other. We accepted £2.7m from Preston apparently.AberystwythAddick said:
People were saying no less than 3 mill for TC in the same situation.se9addick said:£4M - £5M for JRS with 10 months left on his contract feels like too much. Think it may just be the going rate for the level we are now playing at though. If TC is worth 3 JRS is worth 5
In this modern football economy that’s a bargain0 -
Of course - and as I say it’s probably the Netflix bollocks but for the younger generation it’s definitely ArthurAberystwythAddick said:

Happy with the loan and small hope that we’ve gone down loan road to ensure there’s enough money left in transfer window for JRS.2
-
Like the AO move a lot. Now to put a bow on the transfer business and get Jes done.
Just hope Parrish isn't a twat to negotiate with and tries any silly buggers.6 -

I suspect that we've loaned him to check him out, as he wouldn't have been one of the planned targets at the start of the summer, but was the best we could get in once TK decided to leave in early August.
Maybe if we're happy with each other, the deal will be made permanent in January.4 -
Good signing, presumably on a lower wage than TK. Mannion is a solid second choice0
-
Oh yeah, I forgot about that documentaryDamoNorthStand said:

Has there been any recent rumours on JRS - Or are we all still living in hope mostly ?0
-
Don’t even need to go back a year we have England International Nathaniel Chalobah on our books now and England international Nathan Redmond not even impressive enough on a trial to play for usAberystwythAddick said:

I like all of our signings.... BUT I am not convinced we have solved our midfield problems. At present we have added Chalobah, a good player but not reliable fitnesswise. And we have signed Ouma, who has not had a preseason and has no Champ experience.
Maybe we just could not afford/ attract the kind of dominant pivot in midfield that we lack, but I am afraid we will still get overrun in midfield in many games.9 -

Cawley has confimed interest on his podcast and I have heard cast iron confirmation in the industry we are pushing hard for him.33 -
We certainly haven’t got a playmaker which disappoints me but Jones tends to favour a different type of midfielder which we have now got in Chalobah and Ouma. It’s The Championship so they’ll certainly be games where our midfield is under great pressure. Starting on Saturday I’d imagine. Having said that we’ll create more and score more. We won’t I don’t think see as many clean sheets this season, or Charlton 0Southbank said:I like all of our signings.... BUT I am not convinced we have solved our midfield problems. Jones is evidently extremely confident Ouma is going to be up to it and that Mwamba is good enoughSouthbank said:I like all of our signings.... If that happens it’s must be seen as a very successful transfer window.CafcCrazy said:Has there been any recent rumours on JRS - Or are we all still living in hope mostly ?1
