I'm not anti JRS, at all. It's just everybody assumes he's going to be the dogs boll**** for us on zero evidence. And immediately discounting Grant, Alli, and Apter at the mearest hint of fake news that comes in. Hasn't Grant done enough already this season to, at least, be 'in possession of the shirt'?DDOUBLEE said:
Why are you so anti-JRS? Didn't even need to see the username to know it was youSteveACS said:(Sighs)
So, a fake twitter journalist puts up some fake news, and CL goes from slightly bonkers, full of people who spend too much time playing 'Football Manager', to bat shit crazy...
I've said it once, and I'll say it again. We're well covered on the right. No-one knows JRS is going to be better than Grant. And Grant has far more experience in the Championship than JRS. And we have cover with Apter and Alli. Maybe NJ has decided to look somewhere else? Maybe we should temper our expectations a little?3 -

I mean there is quite a bit of evidence that he will at least be much better than Apter. He’s done better in league 1 than Apter and also done alright in the championshipSteveACS said:

League must be our only priority this season.charente addick said:
Yep, can see NJ making at least 5 changes, possibly as many as 7 or 8. Won’t be popular with some fans but I would support him for doing it. Every point we can get in the league will be precious.BigDiddy said:Like others have said, we need to use our squad and maybe give a few players a rest on Wednesday night?
I’d play Apter/Alli, Knibbs, Mbick, Collins and give a few players a chance to recover in time for Preston2 -
I’d be surprised if he came to us, but NJ might persuade him to join our improving squad.RedRobin said:
Also said he thought we wouldn’t be able to meet their demands and JRS wages etc, but he’s now heard that we are prepared to! It’s not a done deal though according Rich but sounds a lot more positive and with TC signing a new deal, I think it could balance in our favour.CafcSCP said:From the Cawley and Mendez ost match pod, Cawley confirmed that Burnley are in for JRS.
He said it does depend to what level of Palaces demands they’re prepared to go to.
I’d suggest its also very much up to JRS then.
If he wants to be in London as some have suggested then that would probably tip the balance and force Palaces hand.0 -
Grant’s a Left winger, Alli is a left winger who can both fill in on the right so we have one natural RW at present.SteveACS said:(Sighs)

It’s the sort of fee we will need to start paying to build a stable championship squad.Crispywood said:

Disagree - we must try and win against PNE, so look after those players and give some squad members a run out at Spurs.golfaddick said:

Disagree. Think we’ll make 11 changes in terms of formation and 10 in terms of personnel.DamoNorthStand said:Don’t see us making 11 changes….. we have never done that for a big cup game even deeper into the season when players are tired.
Can see around 5-7 changesWon’t risk any of them.

League just too important.
1) that team could easily get steamroller & lose by 5 or 6. Not good for morale.
2) why do the starting 11 get to miss out on playing in a great stadium. I'd be pretty pissed off if I was TC or Leaburn. Do all the hard work on a Sat only to find someone else gets to play in the glory tie on Wed.
Going by your team why not go the whole hog & play all the players we are trying to ship out inc Doc, Kanu, Kaminski

Fair play to TC, he’s improved his end product on the pitch and ITK output off the pitch.26

Whilst I don’t disagree 5M is much nowadays for a good level championship player, we spent 6.5M in fees on Kelman Apter Tanto. This window we managed to get Okonkwo, McNamara Koumetio Mesik Chalobah Grant Ouma (no clue if he’s good) for 1M in fees.AberystwythAddick said:

Maybe SNM means
Sorry! Nah mate!

Of course Grant has, but a bit of competition never did anybody any harm. With our injury record, we need to be well stocked. We survived last season on the last day - should have and would’ve been sooner had we had better options imo.SteveACS said:

i also wouldn’t say Zero evidence - he had a stellar season in league one for us and clearly gets on with some of the players. Championship is of course a step up, but certain players just fit in at certain clubs. He didn’t set the world on fire with his other loans. Maybe he was homesick - another reason why we are a good fit for him.4 -

I see it as Rak Saki on the left
Campbell on his prefered Right
Grant playing more central behind the main striker
And that looks pretty good to me16 -

I'm not ITK but rumours from the Palace end are that we have agreed a fee for JRS...... oh, I do hope so, would love to see him in our red shirt on Wednesday/Saturday12

That's literally the opposite of how they play, Campbell prefers the left, JRS plays off the rightblackpool72 said:

There are so many ifs and buts here... injuries, form etc.
But the POTENTIAL is there for a front 4 of Miles, JRS, Grant and TC to be the most dynamic we have had in years in SE7.
It is that key of a signing for me. Knits everything together.27 -
