Starting to wonder...guinnessaddick said:Out for the season?
NJ said he wasn't injured.
Then it was a "tiny injury."
Then he said he won't be back after the international break.

Shocking.3 -
He clearly pulled a muscle the one time he tried to sprint in the game he came off in. He didnt even need to run at the time.0
-
Will be amazed if we see him before Christmas1
-
Alan Mwamba is the closest replacement we have for him. But he understandably needs handling carefully and easing in. Until then we are in a bit of a sticky situation.9
-
Yes, I noticed he got carried away and sprinted forward prior to the injury.Alwaysneil said:He clearly pulled a muscle the one time he tried to sprint in the game he came off in. He didnt even need to run at the time.0 -
Well, he was registered in the 25 man squad so hopefully we see him before Christmas.0

Which year?Callumcafc said:Well, he was registered in the 25 man squad so hopefully we see him before Christmas.4 -
He was so good he actually managed to convince us Coventry was a quality midfielder as well1

Maybe the two of them complemented each other really well?Crispywood said:He was so good he actually managed to convince us Coventry was a quality midfielder as well7 -

He’s not going to shag you lad, completely ok for fans to have different opinions on playersLeuth said:

Yeah and it's completely okay for others to tell those fans they're being absolute dickheads for chucking even the guys who've been good this season under the bus. We might as well concede relegation already if what you say is true, because we won't have any worthy midfielders left at allCrispywood said:

Not chucking him under the bus in the slightest just stating that Chalobah is so good he elevates the level of everyone else around him. For what it’s worth I think the whole midfield is completely average at best and unfortunately the one I really like has cheesestrings for leg musclesLeuth said:

It's a fairly innocuous comment and it might be overstated but it's not entirely untrue. Coventry did look miles better with Chalobah next to him.0

Chalobah is an EPL level midfielder by pedigree so we are better when he plays, yes. That's generally how it works. Coventry's best performance for us was with Skipp as his partner, 2 games ago. Maybe Skipp carried him. Maybe he's never been good ever and everyone has carried him. Maybe when he was voted players' player of the year they were all carrying him with their votes

I'm just saying, calling someone a twat for that comment is probably a little OTT.Leuth said:Chalobah is an EPL level midfielder by pedigree so we are better when he plays, yes. Oh I posted it after midnight and can even edit it. Fine it was a bit arsey. We all need these three weeks1

Another factor with Chalobah being out is thay we miss his physical presence in both boxes.
I saw it happen a few times at the Watford game and even called it to Leeds_addick before an attacking corner. They were so busy watching Jones and Big Billy that Nathaniel managed to get himself some space and get free from his marker. Only once did the right ball get delivered for him and he put his header wide. Cov/Skipp/Ouma just font have that height or ability in the air.
Losing him and big Billy has made us much less of a threat at set plays. Which for a team thay rely on them is not ideal.2 -
Such a Charltonish injury absence, of the sort too common before Doctor Will Abbott arrived.
Not the really bad injuries, which sadly can't be helped, but the seemingly minor strain which goes from days to weeks to months out. If Chalobah won't be ready even after the international break, then that's a month and a half and counting.4 -
Well, we got 9 points from the 3 games that Chalobah started.
It may just be the difference that saves us from relegation.
Chalobah POTY 😊

Given his injury record over the course of his career, I don't think we can call this one "Charltonized." I think it's more "Chalobahized." And I really rate him, his injury record is just really a shame.killerandflash said:Such a Charltonish injury absence, of the sort too common before Doctor Will Abbott arrived.

Does this mean he’s back against Watford?cantersaddick said:Another factor with Chalobah being out is thay we miss his physical presence in both boxes.

Thought Chalobah was having a really good influence on TC and seemed to be having a mentor role with some of the younger players.
I hope he is back as quickly as possible because I thought he showed real quality.
I would have him at SL everyday and hope he was a positive example to the rest of the team.1 -
Dammit I meant Derby! LolCafcSteve said:

DamoNorthStand said:Unfortunately as soon as the money man wanted out we had to resort to shopping
in the bargain bin. He’s free / cheap for a reason - and we will do well to get 10 games a season out of him.
So you don't believe we were ever going to pay around 5 million for Rak-Sakyi with a long contract and a decent wage?
Chalobah's 1 year contract reflected his injury CV over recent years. Nathaniel looks a class above but we need 20 games from him and that's looking optimistic.1
