I never thought we’d make the play offs but after the first three games I was thinking if it were wise to have booked a week in Malta for early May.Fortune 82nd Minute said:

100%. We will be in a mini league down the bottom of the table again. Staying in the league is surely the goal once again this season.ForeverAddickted said:

In fact, I have just told my wife she can book a holiday at the end of May next year as I'm now pretty convinced my attendance at the play-off games will not be required!1 -

Skipp was our best midfielder today. Not saying he was great but he was better than the rest of them.swords_alive said:I'd give Ouma time and think he'll get it. His brain's too quick for most of ours a lot of the time, like when he dropped the ball for Skipp and Skipp didn't move. He's very mobile too. The mistake or misfortune, is playing him with Skipp bedding in, plus Alli when off key or inconsistent, and Bindon, who i think weakens and distracts the whole side (though i'm not sure of the latter 2 were off the pitch already when Ouma came on today). Still Ouma the puma for me.4 -
That was a team that hadn’t won so far this season no matter which way you look at it, and we got our arses handed to us, they hadn’t won for a reason, probably because other sides had the quality and the temerity to actually be competitive, people giving Cardiff credit are rather generously papering over our cracks.2

Calling for our least effective player so far this season to come back in...CafcWest said:Just what has Knibbs done to not even get a look in...spends almost the entire game warming up. Carey has had a few poor games but at least he offers some threat and normally tries to drive us forward. Both Alli and Ouma looked awful today and even Grant was misplacing passes. Leaburn works hard but is too isolated. Someting has got to change...1 -
Very depressing afternoon.
A truly poor performance with no redeeming features. So many below par performances is extremely concerning. A team that hasn’t won a game so far this season were the most comfortable winners you could imagine.
Fantastic numbers for a lunchtime KO given the distance. Them numbers will quickly dwindle if this continues. Hugely deflated away end.15 -
TC continues to carry a threat and Leaburn imo played well but Cardiff and Bielik in particular got away with roughing him up constantly.AFKABartram said:Very depressing afternoon.

Also Edwards got back out there...
There's always positives, sometimes though they're harder to see than negatives.6 -
You can coach patterns til the cows come home... But it's not going to help when you've got players who can't pass to each other when they're standing literally two yards away.FirenzeAddick said:Jones has some serious problems.
In my view he needs to bring some attacking coaching experience into his back room staff, he and the current staff clearly are unable to coach patterns of play or progression of the ball.
Our play is dreadful. Has been for over a season and we look like we going backwards rapidly

Midfield is my main worry. Wonder if we had a list of much different targets and the ownership shenanigans that are unfolding left us in the lurch looking for loans. Just worried that this supposed " evolution" will just end up back being 352 with TC and Leaburn up top again within a month.
Would love a player like Moylan or even Alex Robertson in our side.5 -
How my minutes has he played this season ?Dazzler21 said:

We can't keep entering games expecting to only have 30% procession.
Yes, occasionally we'll get the odd Ipswich away, Middlesbrough or West Ham type of result, but getting played off the park, week in week out, isn't the way forward.
We don't take care of the ball, we constantly give it back due to careless passes or wrong decisions.
We saw today just the type of player that we desperately needed to sign, but didn't.
Instead we signed yet another defensive midfielder who constantly looks to pass the ball backwards.
There is a horrible negativity running through the team with the emphasis always on safety first. It's boring, predictable and makes it easy for the opposition to run rings around us.

Successive away capitulations. Stoke and now Cardiff had no trouble creating good shooting opportunities around the edge of our box. All too easy.

Not meaning to make light of things, and only trying to use as an analogy, but parking, size of bags, quality of food, club shop issues seem rather trivial after watching that, I’m more concerned our owners aren’t as enthusiastic as they once were, the transfer window appears to point to that, you get what you pay for and that’s showing now.8

It’s certainly looking that way. As Charlton fans we know the signs , we’ve seen it many times before .Sword65pf said:Not meaning to make light of things, and only trying to use as an analogy, but parking, size of bags, quality of food, club shop issues seem rather trivial after watching that, I’m more concerned our owners aren’t as enthusiastic as they once were, the transfer window appears to point to that, you get what you pay for and that’s showing now.0 -
We play such poor football. Coventry and Skipp together does not work. Neither ever gets forward or looks to pass forward. Skipp was chasing Moylans shadow all game.
What does Jones do im training and what are his tactics? Piss poor again.
The most worrying thing is we dont even look solid at the back.1 -
Well, that was sh1te2

NJ not pulling his punches post match3

Indeed mate, and it’s really gutting to think that way as thought we were on the right path.Bedsaddick said:

Currently on platform 2 of Cardiff Station with the Charlton team standing beside me…8

Jones said we were inept out of possession, but surely he’s got to say/see we were inept with possession as well. He says he sees very good footballers every day in training, but we never play like it. Most if not all the team are poor on the ball2

I honestly thought that was one of the worst performances by a championship side I have seen this season. The inability to do the basics.e.g.trap a ball, and then actually pass to a teammate 5 yards away, was extremely worrying.Cardiff could and should have had five or six,if we play like this against some of the better sides, there are going to be some very humiliating score lines.I really dont know the answer, even Lloyd looked shaky.Hope the 3 week break can refresh us .4

What do you get off on posting on here? Very sad.RonnieMoore said:What it does highlight is the two very poor decsions in our last two games that cost us max points …1 -
The fact that NJ isn't accepting accountability is worrying. The confidence of the players looks spent.3
-
I know stats are not everything but I said at the start of this game I was worried.
A team who had been dominating games and creating chances but were at the bottom, were coming up against a team who were in the top 8 but barely create anything and spend most of their games out of possession defending their box.
It felt like a recipe for disaster, and it was.Teams must love playing against us, you know you’re going to have 60%+ possession and that you’ll be camped in our third as we are so deep and so open. The warning signs have been there all season.3 -
He pretty much opened the interview with “I take full responsibility because I prepared the team” did he not?Addicksi said:The fact that NJ isn't accepting accountability is worrying. The confidence of the players looks spent.16 -
Therein lies the problem.Bedsaddick said:Last week NJ said we had a net spend of +1.5 mil this summer.

Yeah but despite that... Is he accepting any other responsibility?AmpshireAddick said:

You bought the players, picked the team (and the subs) and chose the tactics.Callumcafc said:
