I think the main difference from Wednesday night was that more season ticket holders attended. The pricing is head crackingly stupid. We have about 12,000 home seats to sell and are managing about 25% of that, allowing for comps. You could obviously generate more revenue and build support with more sensible pricing. Crowd looked small on TV. I wasnt paying £35 plus again after Wednesday. 50 for both games and we would of been adding a fair few fans IMO1

So basically, 75k over 4 games so far gives an average attendance of roughly 18.5k against the average for the whole of last season of 20k
let Nathan sign a load of pretty decent footballers who then have a reasonably good start to the season and get less fans in the ground ?3 -

If the increased matchday ticket prices are paving the way to justify huge season ticket rises next season then I will seriously consider not renewing.That’s coming from a die hard fan so imagine the response from a more casual fan …
I will at the very least have to move as they recategorised my zone to zone 2 and said the price will be raised to reflect this next season. I am scared.Separately, the £1.50 ‘booking fee’ is an absolute pisstake, especially when you just need to buy one ticket.9 -

Can be policed for big games where you might get away fans in but realistically that’s only Millwall and West Ham this season, would Pompey fans without tickets really go in the home end today?Parking is a joke as well, I’m paying £23 a game in Asda this season for day matches4 -
The Sky money is important but not relevant in this context, because it is fixed whereas the ticket revenue is variable. It is an opportunity. Quite honestly the owners who are covering the losses are paying for incompetent (or completely absent) management.Cafc451 said:They care about sky money more.
i know, because I was told by Ed Warrick, that the club was shocked by the poor attendance for the (abandoned) Portsmouth game last season, which was also a “gold” game. They have done exactly the same thing again, and got the same outcome. Who is in charge?12 -

We ve had a great start winning at westham etc ,weve brought in quality players . Yet 2 big home games QPR london derby and pompey today well below 20k .... last season many home games were 20k + .... the club seriously need a rethink6

Pricing is plain wrong and not aligned to our demographic but maybe that doesn’t align with our mission statement to become 'the most cohesive and sustainable community-driven club in the UK competing at an elite level'6 -
I know it isn’t the biggest source of money but Pompey will always pack out the away end. But I would argue there is one other - the sheer difficulty of getting to the ground and parking if arriving by car.
I used to commit the cardinal sin - I know, I know - of driving to games through an empty central London. Sadiq Khan and TfL with their congestion charge, Blackwell Tunnel charge, 20 mph speed limits and the closing off off many back doubles I used to use have now made this practically undo-able.
Throw in the lack of parking when I arrive and the only real way I can now get there is by train or bus from North Greenwich.
Frankly, I can't be bothered now with the rugby scrum into Charlton station, often surrounded by pissed, unlikeable away fans. So it's a bus back to North Greenwich for me. But the traffic is horrendous on that route these days, often taking the best part of an hour to get back to the station. With all these issues, how much easier is it just to watch on TV.
I'm not sure what the answer is regarding the travelling but I am sure convinced that the sheer stress and difficulty of it must be putting people off.8 -

That's the question I've been posing this season regarding the pricing issue but also the catering & recent "innovation" - the bag drop nonsense.
No CEO , so who makes the decisions, with or without the input of the various " fan led groups" on these issues? Who heads the relevant departments at our club ?
The only name I have is Tom Rubashow .....With no other options, I'd address my concerns to him.
I'm sure he'd respond if he's not the appropriate person.
Or maybe there's a moratorium on responding to fan based emails for some reason at this moment in time.
Anyone would think there is currently something to hide .3 -
You only have to look at the final phase ST prices for this season to see what the renewal prices are likely to be for next season. £395 for Lower CE; £570 for Upper CE and other zone 3 seats.shine166 said:

Over the past couple of seasons I have managed around seven games with family and friends and by this stage in 25/26 I had already been to two games and spent nearly £180 on tickets. I haven’t been at all this season despite the good start and generally more expansive play.Tickets are too expensive and from reading this thread and looking at the attendances it seems I’m not alone.Let’s hope the club acts and introduces a few initiatives to try and get more people inside The Valley.6

Over 2 thousand down in numbers in the home areas on the first 3 home Saturday games and the first home midweek league game compared to last season
25/26: 18,383
26/27: 16,347
