Parkinson brought Burton in, probably on a bigger wage than Dickson.

He is going to look even more of a tit than he does already in front of his directors if his signing is not a first choice.

This is all about Parkinson saving face in my opinion.

he could always play him alongside - from what I read regarding style they should compliment one another

What face does he think he has left, to save?

It could be argued that the mess we are in is of Pardew's making but Burton is Parky's man.

If he drops him then he looks a mug.

I expect to hear a lot of unhappy Addicks tonight if he doesn't start...

Does that mean that Parky's now out-voted ..... and Dicko starts?

PS: Remember Dicko is the best striker you've never seen play.

    ;o)

Banner at top of the OS says that Murty, Soares, Spring and Gray all return to starting line up - which says to me that there's no Dickson...

I've long ago given up. First Pardew and now his clone. Something isn't right there, and only they know what their agenda is. It would have been interesting to have seen what a proper new manager would have made of it all.

Dicko's 15 minute cameo shows he has to play with one other up front - on tonight's performance, that's Burton - he's the only forward we have capable of beating a man (make that two men!) drawing the keeper and putting it on a plate for his playing partner - he has pace, he's raw and he needs refining, but BOY DIDN'T HE GET THE CROWD GOING!

Dicko showed more promise tonight and all round play than our other forwards have all season, the madness must stop now, he deserves a run in the team
  • did more in 15 mins tonoght than gray did in 65

i feel for andy gray i really do but feck me we need someone with pace to get in behind

The whole game changed when Dicko came on IMO

He got grief from the bench for not getting involved enough but we were so deep he had 4 or 5 men around him

Great cameo and deserving of a couple of starts ahead of gray

Don't think he did anything wrong he was by himself upfront and if Burton was a yard faster we would have been 2-0 up.. The bench were giving him grief for not defending....

And Parkinson had a go at him after he got the yellow card. Things like that seem to be the reason he's not in the team.

I love his passion, he needs to start up front with Burton at Burnley.
  • In that 15 minute cameo you can see why he is both a favourite with the fans and a nightmare for the management team.

There were at least 5 incidents of indiscipline in that time but also flashes of pace skill and composure.

Andy Gray is so woefully out of form that it must be worth starting with Dicko at Burnley.

Play Dicko ...... just for his enthusiasm and desire to make it.

They're qualities you don't get always get from every player in every game.
And playing experience will teach him the rest.

That bit at the end where he ran the ball to the corner then mugged the two Palace that came to him and knocked it across the face of goal, was just lovely

Dicko to play, two up front. We might as well go for it. We need to win games and we can't do that playing 4-5-1. Shit or bust for me. If it doesn't work at least it'll be fun. :-)

I saw Parky and Kinsella ripping into him but I think he was told to go any sit on the last man - and be a general nuisance.
Because we were sat so deep he had the back 3 all over him and the holding midfielder to contend with - hence he never seemed to be in the right place at the right time.

I still stand by my comment that he changed the game because we were getting deeper and deeper in defence - but when he came on we had an outlet.

Deffo deserves a start with Burton who worked his socks off last night

Problem: we're not scoring enough goals

Solution: play a specialist goalscorer hungry to play

don't be daft we need to pack out the midfield and keep as many clean sheets as possible and nab the odd goal... DOH!
  • Much as we're all desperate to see Dickson partner Burton on Saturday I fear the best we'll get is Shelvey back behind Burton in a 4-5-1.

As long as Gray's name isn't on the starting XI
