  • Makes you wonder what he was doing prior to May!! ;)

Dropping Mauresmo and bringing back Lendl probably helped
To be fair she helped calm him down a bit as you dont seen him shouting at his entourage these days
True but that could also be because he keeps winning!
  • Murray's relatively poor start to 2016 should mean he stays No 1 for a while now, providing he doesn't crash out in round 1 in Melbourne!
  • I was doing some research after the match between Murray and Djokovic last night as saw the latter say that there is a bit of a Bromance between the two of them seeing they've come from the Junior game together (despite that there is little friendship there because naturally how can you truly be friends when you plotting to beat the other?

What I did notice was a comment Murray made prior to his Wedding when he was asked which celebrities would be invited.

Murray's response was: "I dont have any celebrity friends"

So its good to see him so grounded in that respect that he's never seen hanging round with the next big thing etc.
  • my wife's nan was telling me last week that it's all down to Djok losing on purpose because he's on drugs and doesn't want to be tested. I did a lot of nodding and saying 'really?'. I didn't have the heart to tell her that there's a fair chance he will be tested even if he finishes second
  • Interesting the list of titles that Murray has won this year:

Italian Open (May) | Queens (June) | Wimbledon (July) | Olympic Gold (Aug) | China Open (Oct)
Shanghai Masters (Oct) | Vienna Open (Oct) | Paris Masters (Nov) | ATP Tour Finals (Nov)

Makes you wonder what he was doing prior to May!! ;)

    Losing to Djokovic!
  • Superb and he's getting better, more determined and tougher all the time ... And it can't be very often that brothers are at world number one in their respective disciplines, doubles and singles, well done lil bro Jamie ((:>)

Jamie is the older of the two at 30 whilst Andy is only 29

A bit selfish of Judy not to have a daughter as well!

Well Andy has cried enough after a tennis match so guess its close enough (Sorry Andy!!) ;)

Did he manage to crack a smile

Not sure... It looked like he did but its the sort of smile I produce when I've farted so could have just been that, especially as Djokovic appeared to be standing next to him and after muttering in Murray's ear walked away rather quickly.

So his mum wasn't invited then?

I think Murray is quite good friends with Nadal too.

Yeah thats what I took from my search too... Murray and Djokovic have always got on but the latter believed that if there is a friendship then its between Murray and Nadal which has helped because the two have never really been rivals

I imagine you developer a friendship given that you're on tour with these people nearly all year round.

Just because you're rivals doesn't mean you have to hate each other. Although I don't know what he said Djokovic clearly had some lovely words for Murray at the net after last nights final, and he's an all round bloody good guy. I imagine he's hard to not get along with.

The way it was worded in the article with Djokovic was the question: How can you be friends with someone when your constantly trying to kick their arse on the court and win the title you really want yourself

Agreed the way they spoke at the net (and during the photos) it looked really good between them but think its partly professional respect.

If the rumours are true he was probably hitting on him.

It must feel pretty special to be Judy Murray right now, a tennis coach who used to train, and also just happens to be mother to, two tennis players who are number one in the world in the chosen specialist field.
  • Murray, Nadal and Djokovic know each other from when they were on the junior circuit, so for all their rivalry have that deep down bond of having grown up together

Be very interesting to see who can replace him...

Lendl really has sorted out Murray's mentality at the moment so could Djokovic be making a huge mistake and is about to have a similar Mauresmo moment

The way Djokovic finished the season, his mentality is already questionable. Maybe it was Boris who had enough?

Murray is number one seed at French Open this year but I can't see him winning it unfortunately. He's in a bad run of form plus Nadal is red hot at the moment. He does have the benefit avoiding both Djokovic and Nadal who are in the other half of the draw, but is probably facing Del Potro in the third round.

Route to the final for Murray is:

    R1: Kuznetsov
    R2: Loloki (WC) / Klizan
    R3: Del Potro (29) / Almagro / Baghdatis
    R4: Berdych (13) / Isner (21)
    QF: Nishikori (8) / Zverev (9)
    SF: Wawrinka (3) / Cilic (7)
    F: Djokovic (2) / Nadal (4)
  • That's not a bad draw in normal circumstances but he has looked a shadow of his former self this year. Expecting a third round exit to Del Potro.

Djokovic will have to beat Nadal, then the world's number 1 to win it.

Nadal will have to beat Djokovic, then the world's number 1 to win it.

Murray just has to reach the final, then beat whoever's just had lumps taken out of them in a gruelling semi.

In that basis, it looks like a good draw for Murray!

Stan is a former French Open winner and thus no mug on clay especially against what has been a below par Murray for much of this year.
  • Looking at the draw and based on his current form, i think Andy will struggle to get past any of those potential opponents from the quarters onwards, barring possibly Zverev.
  • Zverev won't be easy either. Good young player who just beat Djokovic in straight sets in Italian Open final.

Wawrinka not had a great clay court season either this year. Fancy Del Potro/Zverev to make the final personally.

Although saying that, Del Potro might pull out due to injury. Touch and go for him.
