[cite]Posted By: Thick Geordie[/cite]The Addicks are reluctant to sell their prized asset for nothing less than £10 million, but a £5 million cash bid could seal the deal for the Toon.
Leaving the abysmal grammar to one side how would the brainbox that wrote this have any idea about the specific numbers.

Are we to believe the following conversation happened:
"Wye aye Richard, ah reet for a shite internet-only pooblication. I was wonnerin, like, how mooch you'd sell Jonjo Shelvey, to the Toon for, like, bonnie lad?"
    "Pardon?"
[this continues for a while until, finally, RM interprets the question]
    "I don't know, £10M I guess"
"Ah, bonnie lad, big fat Mike Ashley told us doon the poob in the toon that he'd only pay £5 million poond"
"Oh ok, that should do it"
"Canny, bonnie lad, I'll let him knaaw when av'e finished batterin' the wife. Howay the lads!"
  • Lol Morts - I particularly like the implication that we'll accept a lower fee for cash only so we don't have to put it through the books! We're, potentially, selling a future England international footballer, not a MkIII Ford Escort!

    Good luck to Shelvey.

I hope he scores and help defeat Pardew's team and wipe Pardews smug, arrogant and complacent smirk off his face.

( A Charlton Life Badge for Folev the Red for digging out the Shelvey thread from December 2009).

no doubt Pardew will remind everyone it was him who gave Shelvey his professional debut.

Very average today, substituted and made his typical trademark rash challenge and rightly got booked. Made one or two excellent passes, but seemed to stroll around at half pace most of the time. To be fair though, Newcastle were much better in midfield though.
  • Did alright I thought. Pick of Liverpool's midfield though obviously that is not saying much at all.

The whole Liverpool midfield were poor and that includes Shelvey. It also includes Suarez and Gerrard so he is in good company.

The sooner Liverpool drop the nostalgia and appoint a proper manager the better (for them at least). Bloody hell, they'll be digging Shanks up next....................................
