Enjoyed Dune 2 - thought it was much better than the first installment. Some of the set piece scenes were excellent and thought the acting and action was very good. Pulled together a lot of the story threads from the first film well, I think Villeneuve wants to make a trilogy but not sure if that will happen. 4/5
Bank employee Morán devises and implements a plan to steal enough money to never have to work again, confesses and serves prison time while his colleague hides the cash. Soon under investigative pressure, matters become complicated when his accomplice, Román, meets a beguiling woman.
The film had high quality production values and some very good moments. It was a decent enough watch but, overall, it didn't quite hit the spot for me. It could have done with some tightening up - both in terms of narrative structure and the 3 hour running time - and the ending was a little too enigmatic for my taste.

Saw last night they've confirmed a part 3 to cover the Dune: Messiah storyline. Haven't read that one yet but will read it ahead of time, glad its getting a 3rd installment though
Far better than I expected - surprised by how poor some of the reviews have been. Marisa Abela is excellent in the role of Amy. I'd forgotten how good her music is.
Saw Back to Black as well tonight. Such a sad story of such a troubled girl, and like @hoof_it_up_to_benty says it reminds you how talented she is was.
Really enjoyed it.
Also took the time to see the latest interview from her ex husband who I always assumed was a scumbag but comes across in real life totally different to how I expected
Tried to watch Poor Things. Perhaps I wasn’t in the right frame of mind but I turned it off. Can’t remember the last time I did that? But watched Good Luck to you Leo Grande instead. Great film. Got to love Emma Thompson!
Just seen Robot Dreams with my grandson. Animated film about friendship, loss and finding new ones. Was nominated at Oscars. It was really great movie. There is no dialogue, uses visual expressions and sometimes music to portray different emotions. My grandson really liked it. However we were only two in theatre. It has had very little publicity, such a shame.
Poor Things - Emma Stone was incredible in the lead role, the plot was bonkers and some of it was as close to ‘porn’ you are going to get on a Cineworld screen. Leaves you thinking, a bit numb, a bit uncomfortable, but as said above full of admiration for Emma Stone’s work, alongside Ruffalo (love that man) and Dafoe’s on this movie.
Kung Fu Panda 4 - watched out of sentiment with my now late teen kids. We all did. I wish we hadn’t. A couple of amusing moments, but otherwise, nowhere near the first couple of instalments. Time to hang up the black belt, Panda…
Dune 2 - really enjoyed it. I found part one quite a hard watch, it needed further editing imho, so did not watch it again pre-part 2, but wish I had as I was a bit pre-occupied trying to remember where The Emperor played by Christopher Walken (another fine fine actor) had shown up in part 1. Answer: he hadn’t- ffs 🤦🏻♂️ As above, excellent set pieces and the pace was much much better. Source material for part 3 not so strong imho so hope Denis uses artist licence to bring something better to the screen. Will watch for sure!
Am going to the cinema tonight. Very tempted by Civil War, but am also a bit of a sucker for Monsterverse…?

Ha, Jean sorry I missed you last night and would love to jump at this, but my daughter (who is not into footie) is available to go out with mum and dad tonight, so looks like cinema is the best option. Enjoy the game and Up the Addicks!
Watched this a few weeks back. This was very grim and well thought out, however it didn't flow as well as it could have. At times it felt like various short stories in one film. I still enjoyed it though.

Cinematography was great and some very good acting performances, but unfortunately the plot was basically a paedophiles fever dream.
