  • champion certificates, you need them for crufts and i am not sure how many you need for your dog to be classed a champion

Hi @Nthlondonaddick, you need 3 CC's for to be made Champion, but you don't need CC's to qualify for Crufts. Your dog needs to be placed 1,2,3 in a class at a Champ show - providing there are more than 4 in the class, if not you need to be 1 or 2 - then you will qualify for Crufts. Hope today goes well mate.
  • She played up today but only in the ring she stood lovely walked lovely and I thought we are in here

The judge said can u take them rd again and lola point blank refused

She wouldn't walk until forced and wouldn't stand

The judge spoke to me at the end and said she was 1st or 2nd up until then and only asked us to go rd again to place her

She went from top two to 4th and there was only 4 in it

    So disapointing

One of the breeders handlers is taking her to the schnauzer club show next week and if she doesn't play up then she will show her for me a buba

My breeder said its as if she is playing a game with me as she can feel my nerves

At Baileys first one or two shows we got slaughtered mate, both the dog and the judges pick up on any nerves. I hate showing Bailey as I hold him back which is why I prefer Mrs Redmidland to handle him, keep at it mate the Red Rosette will come. :)

    He's looking good Mog. :)

  • Baileys has boot camp on Friday, 12 months of next to nothing and its a back to basics lesson then some tracking along with a short session on the sleeve with some bite work. I found him a ex OB handler who wants to see him work first before we see how far back he is and where we go from here.image

Poor dog ownership yet again, two entire dogs kept by someone that obviously knows feck all about dogs, Dogs would cope the same way we would with the difference in height.
As for the "Wotties" call them what you like its still a crossbreed or designer breeds as they are now known, I daresay the pups will be sold for 700/800 quid.........

  • Get in got a third she is going to crufts
  • Great did you handle?
  • no bottled it got the breeder to do it, I am now going to her 3 times a week from xmas to get it right for march,

she was brilliant today, still played up a bit as she is like a ball of excited baby puppy but the way she was handled was brilliant and checked her enough to bring it home

Great stuff D, chuffed for you mate.

  • Ray she looks amazing the comments we get from the other breeders are that she is a top top puppy , but she just hasn't shaken off the puppy nutty side as much as she has grown in body,

if I could've got her to behave better earlier she would've had 2 firsts I reckon by now, going to go to Manchester and as many other open and champ shows as I can before crufts just so I can gain experience plus go to the breeder 3 times a week atleast,

Its really great way to waste your day, I enjoy watching all the breeds but you get some loonies there
  • I need to be firmer is what they are all telling me so its my fault
  • Dont worry about that, its always our fault!!
I've taken Bailey back to basic's training again, with an ex OB trainer and he canes me week in week out. Anything, starting a walk on my right foot instead left, you name it I'm doing wrong. The other class members think we are good, but its the basics that I'm forgetting. Very rusty!!!
Bailey had his audition with the BBC today which went ok, but I'm not sure he's what they want..........
  • its so annoying knowing its our fault though mate aint it, whats he auditioned for mate
  • Something about "Sport Relief" its team games with your dogs plus some sort of celebrity?
Also a part in a series, but they wouldn't say what and a programme about working dogs with children.
  • sounds like it could be fun mate

  • I wasnt allowed a lab this time around, but here's the latest Red to join the Razil clanimage<img
  • Any advice folks on ways to manage lolas first lady time 8(
  • What's the problem D, besides every fecking dog for miles for miles banging on your front door trying to get a bunk up.
Watch when you take her into the garden, that fence she never bothered jumping before suddenly gets tempting.
She is just as likely to go after the boys.
Walk her late at night/early morning to give yourself some piece of mind.
An extra box of wet wipes when shopping and wood flooring once your carpets are knackered.
The joys of keeping a show dog mate (they have to be entire) although they can't tell with the girls.
Oh and watch the children don't let her out and good luck.........
  • cheers Ray , I have got wooden floors which helped yesterday evening upon our return home from a great dinner with friends,

I had bought some of those doggy knicker things that she has on right now,

and the house is keeping clean, I will have to keep her on the short lead now I spose instead of the 30 ft, woyuld you take her out in the knicker things or without mate
  • That would be your choice mate, I heard of them but never used them on a dog. I thought they were more for indoors but could be wrong. I would certainly do away with a long line for a month, personally I kept Xena indoors but if you are going out with Lola want her next to your left leg and not 30' away.
  • I read the packet and they are for in and out, but I don't think I will leave them on, Its selfish I know but I love our walks so I will put her back on the short lead and keep her close

started using a Halti lead as her pulling got back to its worse the last few weeks but I am wondering if that is linked to the season

she is feeling quite sorry for herself right now so I gave he a nice ham bone from the pet shop and she is on her pillow munching quite happily now

she had acted a bit odd near my little girl not biting her or anything just letting her know that she didn't want to play at times

totally odd as Lola tolerates Scarlett pulling laying pushing her and playing with each other all day every day, they are truly best mates and have been since we got her

so I had been telling scarlett to not do the normal stuff, as I have expected this to come this week tbf

how long do they normally last is it a week or a month, over the last 8 weeks her back end was swelling near her bits, and her attitude to certain things had changed, just surprised it had taken this long to really come through to this stage

  • About a month is a safe bet, the worse bit is about two weeks. As far Lola is concerned try and give somewhere she can just go and hide away from the children. Sometimes she may want to do the equivilant to chucking a plate at someone. If it's her first season she will be wondering what the feck is going on and lash out so ask Scarlett to give her a little more space than normal and if Lola walks away from a cuddle then She has enough don't follow her and certainly don't push her into a corner.
  • *As seen on TV*
Bailey starts filming at the end of month for sounds like a show with obedience/agility/tracking that sort of thing. Along with a celebrity (yeah ok!) Bailey will have achieve certain targets and hopefully win through to the final which although the format has yet to be completed may have a cash prize for charity.
A little bit chuffed for him. ;)
  • Nice one. How exciting!!

    Go on Bailey!
  • Nice one Bailey. (And T.C.E of course) Now lose that weight because the TV makes you look worse :-)
