Sorry forgot all about the walk NLA :(
My last opportunity this weekend to have a meet up unless our solicitor makes anymore cock ups we should have moved home next week. I'll be back regularly with Bailey to the Upbeats and maybe even the oxleas trust supported by the club last week who requesting a visit and Jon (3blokes) is asking for another visit. So plenty to keep us busy, I hoping to qualify Bailey for Crufts next year as a PAT dog but he has to be nominated, Jon!!!!! Ahem cough cough ;) here's Bailey and Xena earlier today. imageimage
  • Lets do this weekend then mate Sunday 3pm ???

  • What day are you leaving Ray? We are away this weekend and not back till Sunday afternoon so wont make 3pm. If you are having a swifty after let me know and will see if we can pop in.
  • We have no idea at the moment B, we have asked the solicitor to let us know when its convenient to her. ;)
Should have been tomorrow, now its looking like next Wednesday!
As for the swift one, it'll be rude not to, say 4.00/4.30 ??
  • I cant promise depending on what time we get back. Will text you if we can.
if not definitely have one Monday or tues if you can make it.
    But will try for Sunday.

in case any of you guys are interested, i bought this product online from zoomadog. it helps with hip dysplacia ( i think that's what it's called? ). anyway the point being my dog has wobbly hips and he falls over a lot or did. it of course doesn't stop him from falling over completely but sufficiently enough to make it worth it imho. their in the isle of man but the product arrived the next day and cost £63 inc tax.

i know some of you have large dogs mines classified as medium but they say it can work on most breeds.
  • Out of all the tests Bailey had once they Xrayed his hips I sent them off for scoring and they came back 6-4 and 0-0 for his elbows, which are fantastic scores. Has your dog had his hips Xrayed for displacia ? Have you seen the X-rays? Have got a second opinion? Has he had blood tests for Hypothyroidism?
You are describing to a tee what Bailey went through and wouldn't want your dog to go through that because I didn't ask.
I glad you have found something that is helping him, What you have found will almost certainly contains Glucosimine and chondritin which helps joints, likewise omega 3. Add oily fish to his diet which help a tin of sardines/macheral (sp) what the sunflower oil which gives them the two bob bits, stick to brine.

  • georgie is 13 years old t c e so a bit of an oap and therefore some of his problems are due to wear and tear and being of an older age.

i have seen his x rays but as i can't interpret them for myself do have to rely on the specialist knowing what he's talking about and i have no reason to doubt him at the moment. he does take glucosamine and has done for quite a few years now but whether it truly makes any difference, i've no idea.

i will look into your suggestions but at the moment believe it to be more about general deterioration than other factors but could be wrong, in fact would love to be wrong?

i mentioned to you a few weeks back about whether you would consider wheels if your dogs back legs failed and you said probably not and i think i might say that too, so these supports he's been wearing and appear to be helping, is at least another tool to use and i'm glad of them too.

georgie has failing kidney's as well so has to be on a pretty bland diet, having said that he clearly doesn't like renal biscuits plus renal wet, so i do compromise at the moment until i see the vet again, by giving him the biscuits but adding a bit of normal wet into it, which he now seems happy to eat. i do use fish as well.

    thanks for your comments.
  • Its come back to me now, (my memory is cr@p)
At 13, which is great age, can he have a RAW diet?
Chicken wings are a favourite of our two.

No worrys mate, the weather is looking rubbish for the weekend. Hope she not in to much pain, if the collar is to stop her chewing the dressing put an old sock over the dressing and tape with insulating tape, inside the sock put some vic they don't like the smell it makes their eyes water. Then you can remove the collar, it saves redecorating the house those collars are a nightmare with walls and doors.
With our house move next Friday and the Upbeats visit on the Saturday I might not have been to popular if I disappeared Sunday for five hours to "walk Bailey" ;)
  • i will do that mate the poor thing hates the Collar of shame , The claret was everywhere I didn't know at first what the hell was going on, I followed the blood trail when I came home in the garden and it seems as though she was pawing under the back gate and got her nail caught in a gap in the pavement and she must have pulled or twisted it right off, it was hanging by a literal thread,

She is just laying down a lot would you put it down to the injections of anti inflammatory, pain relief and

you think you were going to be unpopular, I was coming over straight from Joes match on Sunday meaning I would've been out of the house from about 830am

and now I can have the excuse that I have to take Lola Out down your new manor
  • What anti inflammatory drugs is she on?
You may find she may just be feeling sorry for herself, wants to be left alone and sleep. Unless she goes off her food an especially if she stops drinking then and more importantly if she's got the two bob bits then get her back to the vets.

  • synacalm
    mentolox

I think that's how you spell it mate,

she feels proper sorry for herself I hate the whimpering she never does that noise normally, I tried the Vicks lola seems to like it so the collars back on

Synacalm is a mild sedative, given I should imagine to stop her charging about and let her rest. Vets should explain this, but I stlll have big problem with vets so I may appear a bit bias. ;)
  • never said a word mate she is laying in her crate and hardly moved all day the poor thing

  • No one I have asked knows much about synacalm, most people I have been speaking to have used Rymadayl (sp) and Metacham.
  • Baileys well on his way back.image
  • One happy boy mate made up for you

Lola got a crufts qualifier on friday in the midlands

Nervous as hell now the breeder says she has the look of a champion her body shape and measurements are bang on but she still won't stand well on command and could cost her which ultimately comes down to training and me

I have put hrs and hrs in but I can't seem to master it

We have 3 shows till xmas to get it right for next years crufts really don't want to let her down

If I can nick a first second or third she will qualify but the competition friday is tough some real good minor puppy bitches entered all who will get more points on the training than me I just have to hope they see that she is a cracking example and that with more training will be a great breed standard

  • @TCE. Bailey's looking great mate, hope to get down to see him soon.....oh and Lynn and you of course!!!
  • Hi NLA what is Lola's registered name? so I can keep an eye out for her at shows, when the utilty group and the terrier group are on the same day, we are not going to midland counties on friday though, very best of luck.
  • Miccosukees Seosamh Roisin

Bit long winded but it means joseph rose is gaelic

My sons first and daughters middle name

Its her first show she was not able to do the welsh one last month

She is in this one the nthn schnauzer in november and then buba in december

Be great to meet any others that are in the showing scene as its quite nervy being new into it
  • Thanks for that. One of the best shows of the year is Windsor in early July. Crufts can be very daunting but it is a great experience, I hope you make it.
  • I keep telling myself that these are all just learning curves and if it don't go to plan we have loads to go to next year and both me and lola will get better and better

I know she is good because she is the spit of her dad who was a best in breed champion

She is twice the size of her sibblings and the breeder mrs lockyer is one of the top breeders in schnauzers wants me to let her breed from her as in her words she is stunning
  • Cheers, D & Wally...........
Bailey will be at Crufts next year!! ;)
Having been nominated as a P.A.T (Therapy) dog.
Although with outside influences I don't expect him to get to the latter stages. :(
@Wally, what game are you down for?
    I don't suppose it'll be a night game with a 7.45 kick off, you'll be asleep before it starts. ;
  • Great News mate I am going to get along to there even if she don't qualify the whole thing fascinates me
