TCE used to see you and Bailey walking occasionally in the Woods with my dad and a little Jack Russell (That would never be trusted off a lead!) Would often see you on that common area whilst driving home as well! Great news about Bailey! Hope he continues to get better!

That's a general idea of what Benji likes to do if the weather is to hot... (or cold for a matter of fact!)

Not sure if those pictures are going to work there...

    I can't see them.

here you go Ray she really wont let me take a good pic I am hoping the dog whisperer has a better chance sunday, Breeder phoned again tonight to make sure I was still ok to foster Misty a 3 mth bitch Schnauzer, personally I think Lola will really thrive with a pal, as right now as soon as she sees another dog she is so happy and bouncy it may just calm her a bit cant wait for sat when I can go get the little cutie

Lola in the first 5 months of her life, and she is the nutts , as mad as a box of frogs, very loyal a great family pet and my walking pal

looking back on that day Ray she has grown loads , misty is prob about that size maybe a little bit bigger but not much so I have more whining to listen to I reckon

Struth, she has grown. Like all Puppies they are all legs, once they stop growing upwards then they fill out.
So likes to pull a bit on the lead?
That can soon be sorted, is it just when going out the door or at all times?

  • it was nearly the whole walk straining to go in the direction she wants and really bounding forward, like she was pulling a sledge, she is very excitable to go and play with other dogs which on a whole I don't mind but her recall is not good enough to just allow it, so I am trying to get her to walk on the lead and ignore distractions until I say its ok to go to them or to just walk past without trying to rip my arm off to get there by pulling, she is getting very strong and it needs to be curbed now
  • Don't let her pull!!
As soon as the slack goes out of the lead you have to stop (some people even turn around) she is pulling because she wants get somewhere, she has to learn that she will get there quicker walking correctly. By stopping she will learn, letting her pull you along you are in fact endorsing her bad behaviour.
    or
Lead in the right hand check your dog across your body, the left hand is for emergencies only. (when I say check I don't mean try to rip your dogs head off) as soon as she puts any tension in the lead you check the lead to the right just keep nibbling away with the lead, the constant tugging will annoy the life out of her and she will learn that way.

Bring her favourite toy on sunday we'll work on that recall and "recall voice" ;)

I'll get my mate to bring his dogs..... Lolimage
  • That's the thing I have been doing mate checking her as soon as it tightens, going out the door she is brilliant now she sits waits and walks behind me all the way down the garden steps, even waiting till told to get in the car, even on the first qtr mile of the walk she is really good then she sees the river and we get excited dog, I keep checking her and do not let her in to the river until she is not pulling then she can go in, thing is once out of the river she is so excited and pumped, we get the next 100 -200 yds of me constantly checking her, then I get about a mile of really good walking no pulling and I have let more and more lead out until she is at about 15 ft (max I let out) and she is really good , until a dog comes along then she nearly wets herself with excitement and her bum nearly takes off like in a cartoon as her tail is wagging like mad,

problem is because she is on the lead people take it as aggressive (From a distance) and leash their dog, only to see she wants to play and I get busy bodies telling me I should let her socialise, I inform them she can but on my terms not hers and when she shows the correct behaviour ( which she does sometimes but mainly to schnauzers only)

it has improved mate since I started the checking technique on Sunday last week, and the walk is by far more enjoyable for me and her I believe as she doesn't sound like she is straining on a collar

ultimately I want her off the lead playing in the river when she wants and interacting with other dogs off lead when she wants but only when I know she will come the instant I call her and until I can get her to walk how I want and on the commands I want then I cant see how I can let her do it

Schnauzers according to my breeder are like women they have deliberate Deafness when it comes to doing things they may not want too, but it can be trained out of her,

she goes ring craft and agility, I stopped the obedience as so much of it contradicted the ring craft , and the basic principles of obedience are taught at ring craft

the agility she went to last night and really enjoyed but the recall was a pain

  • I'm afraid I won't be able to make the first ever Charlton Life dogging meet , enjoy all

It's the first one in the daytime Shag. ;)

  • Becks has a dump when he goes out has a piss and seems quite happy pulls my arm off and barnies with other dogs.

  • Try a collar on him a harness encourages an already pulling dog to pull harder. Bring him Sunday Steve.
  • Can't mate Joe has a 1.30 kick off otherwise I would.
  • Lola and misty after a tense first couple of hours seem to be getting on was worried at first as Lola just jumps and paws at dogs, and although quite often submits and rolls over just wants to puppy play, but she wont learn when I say no I mean it
they seem relaxed and friendly together, there is no tension over whos bowl is whos even found them in each others cage laying together, right now they are sharing a bone

but Ray why is Lola is trying to hump Misty, I have never seen a girl dog mount another ???

  • Lola is the more dominant bitch, I'm guessing Misty will lay down and let this happen if she is the submissive one. If they are both dominant this will end in a fight. Unrelated Girls are in this case more difficult to put together. Discourage it D. Xena would never have girl in the house, she dominates Bailey but very much because he lets her, he's reminded her a few times this week where the parameters are and when she's crosses them.

i dont let her hump her mate couldn't deal with the explaining to scarlett

they have had a few snappy moments but on a whole it seems very play fight puppy stuff, I have crated them next to each other, do you think that this will ease up
  • If they are both babies they'll probably become playmates, but it'll take a day or two. Keep an eye on them, crating them next to each other is a good idea, leave a small gap so if they decide to have a tear up they can't get to each other through the crate.

theresjust ovrer a month between them in age Lola 5 months and Misty 4 months, Lola is much bigger than her but Misty seems more the aggressor, Lola is very boisterous and seems to be too much for her at times but nothing to bad , good call with the gap, I am hoping they will be play mates
  • they seem to be getting on still lots of play fighting but no signs of it getting out of hand there is zero noise with the play lots of pawing jumping and mouths on but no real biting ,

Lola has her separate walk to misty as misty is too young to do the full walk, but Lola was amazing on this walk today I am hoping the attention she is getting from the dynamic between her and misty may make meeting other dogs easier
