Baby gates from eBay are cheap enough Ken, especially for the smaller breeds. We had to go back to basics with JJ, you do get out of the habit and a puppy will catch you out. Kongs are good for chewing puppies. Fill it with treats, plug the ends with peanut butter and freeze it overnight, it'll keep puppy entertained for hours as well as soothing their gums while teething. If puppy favours chewing something in particular, smear it with Vic that will keep him away from it without harming the puppy.
Thanks for asking mate, hope all is well with you and your pup's. Saw My puppy after around a year, pretty certain he remembered me, went straight to my pocket, where's my food? Jack, nearly a year old, my parents now have another Lab, not sure when and why, but he is the total opposite of Buster. But.... He's a lab, little sod dog.....
meet gilbert my new dawg. 4year old tri colour male border collie. rescued from the border collie trust.
he's not georgie but of course no other dog could be but we seem to be getting along ok. had him for just over 2 months, pretty well behaved. have ball have no trouble.
I feel as though I haven't bonded yet, he's nipped me a few times, I was told that he has a few anxieties but hopefully with time these will be ironed out.

Rescues or puppies all come with their issues, Xena is over her separation anxiety issues but doesn't like other dogs and will bark at the TV even if the Grandchildren are watching Scoobydoo and I got bitten by JJ only yesterday! My own fault, I was playing with Bailey (tug) and hadn't seen JJ come out of the house. Being a baby he decided to join in the game, lunging at the tug he bit through my finger, my own advice of screaming like a girl was for real this time as blood poured from my finger. It all takes time, stick at it and just shout if you think I can help.

Lol, you don't want to see the goings on down here over Christmas. What is it with dressing up dogs ffs, there are a couple of guys who regularly walk their two dogs all four of them are wearing Hi viz jackets. A older lady with a tiny dog dressed as Santa and a young walking a dog with a tutu on, they'll be wearing " Hoodies" next
Think a day down seaside is needed I reckon mate, she is growing her crufts coat right now so she can't go in the sea but love watching her run with your boys and girl

No worrys, Baileys blowing his coat at the moment, he looks like an exploded matteresss. JJ is shedding his puppy coat and Xena is white so the Hoover is getting a good hiding.
Thought I'd add some of mine to this long running thread, this is Jess, 8 now and a typical super friendly lab obsessed with food. Few as a pup and few as a "grown up".
I just went back through the whole of this thread what a cracker it is
Will drop you a pm ray scarlett talks about bailey still to this day will be great for her to see him.again
We'll sort something out for the spring when the weathers a bit kinder, I'll bring Bailey up, maybe a walk and a couple in the pub afterwards. We start some schutzhund training with the boys soon so hopefully some of the testosterone flying around JJ's body will disappear, he really can be a horrible little shit around smaller dogs, it's pure fear aggression but he's such a big lad and a typical teenager.

Only one thing prettier than a Lab puppy, that's a Shep puppy.
Would be good to get all the dog lovers and canine partners together for a day out at some point. Here's my lovely tibetan terrier, now two and a bit. Can't believe where the time has gone. Second pic is her fast asleep after demolishing what was left of a leg of lamb over Christmas. Said bone is in the foreground.
We also sponsor a rescue German Shepherd dog whose permantly in kennels because he's a bit of a git (5 years now), I hope to get over to spend some time with him hopefully helping with his rehabilitation. Also I have been contacted by the now owner of Valli one of three Shep puppies I rescue from a squat in Gravesend three years ago. My three with my Grandaughter along with Valli now. And Walking three Sheps together, try it.
Yeah mines a standard and everyone on here will say that their breed is the best, but I can honestly say as a family dog she is superb, very easy going and laid back, but a great alarm dog and has a bark far bigger than her size, loves the kids like her own puppies and is so sociable whilst out,
Minis love to yap mate proper noisy some can be
The Giants are awesome animals but like the mini love to bark, but look superb and are a real man's dog imo, need a good firm hand as do all schnauzers at an early age

All very tongue in cheek D, as the show saying goes. "You always take the Best in Show home with you"
Even when the judges are blind mate, lola is like the 4th kid in this house and probably the best behaved out of my clan, watching her with declan is brilliant if she thinks we aint looking she gives him a few licks round his head and ears, like he is her puppy, and he grabs her beard gives it a tug she just gets free moves off never once has she acted in any way worrying with him, still wouldnt ever leave her with him alone but she is so loving and stupidvits heart warming

It's one of the reasons I don't show my dogs anymore, the exception being Mrs Redmidlands show in Nottingham.
Really put us off ray started becoming very annoying, she is back at crufts due too a second place last year in Scotland and finishing third last year at crufts will be her last outing I reckon before she goes off with her boyfriend
She has calmed down a bit now......Got a baby gate, and start socialising sessions next week. Took her for her first walk yesterday in Greenwich park, with her big brother ( other westie) Thanks for the tips, Here she is...... sleeping in her brothers bed......
