Not a good start for The Royal Oak - 'not a clue how it started but people were weighing in from all angles. Then obviously when glasses were thrown people were thrown out. Police showed up not long after'.3 -
Yeah lots of twats about tonight hence my comment of given the pubs a breather, drove through crayford about an hour ago and people plastered on the street pubs look like there open as normal with massive marquees as far as I’m aware you can serve takeaway pints and not to tables and just let people drink out the back?0

Why the fuck ? The bloke has taken a chance and invested his hard earned dough into this venture. Waited months to be able to open the doors and gets this happen. Absolute idiots they should hang their head in shame7
-
Shame it will get potentially tarnished now, fucking idiots who can't handle their beer and ruin it2

So many wankers about. Swerve the pubs for a couple weeks, let all the helmets have their fun.12

I was at the Anchor & Hope tonight for a couple and a fish and chips, was lovely, no helmetsValleyGary said:So many wankers about. Swerve the pubs for a couple weeks, let all the helmets have their fun.2 -
God no 😡0

Was there tonight with the missus, I can confirm the Guinness is perfect and the burgers are on point. Well worth a visit matchday. The pub is in good hands again. People acting up won't last very long.27

My son at Spoons in Tonbridge with five of his mates since 9am. They had great time, no trouble, and really impressive app to get beer delivered to them. He said it was a great atmosphere.I would have been wasted but they paced themselves with a pint an hour. Picked him up at 8:30 pm. 10 pints over a day. Obviously being a student he was acclimatised!Don’t know where he gets it from!7

My recently turned 18yo has been at The Pilot Inn and did sound like he had a cracking time. He was waffling about 'hipsters' being there. Keep them away from SE9!3

Hoping to join up with Redmidland in, well in the midland, soon as.
We haven’t seen each other for about 50 years!
Only realised we knew each other discussing things on this site.5 -
Looks great. Really well done to the new owners. If Aussie borders ever open I'll drop in for a beer or 4!1

@Redrobo, you may notice two 'gentlemen' in the photo that @TCE published, he omitted to say that the very ancient looking one is actually @TCE !!!Redrobo said:

I hear there was a debate about the Charlton youth set up in the 1980s that escalated quickly.
Someone mentioned the 1987 Youth Cup Final and BOOM.5 -
Hello, does the Royal Oak have wifi that works on the benches outside?
Am considering walking to the Valley for the Upbeats and booking a table outside the pub to watch the CAFC match on (if that's allowed)
Really want to support the pub and the hard work they've put into making a pub that means so much to so many great again so this is an idea how I can do this before we can come back to the valley.

there is also a VERY nice Hope & Anchor on the south bank of the Humber .. The Hope and Anchor Pub - South Ferriby, North Lincolnshire.Leuth said:

Large group in their 20's/early 30's waiting from 11am. Loud and a bit lairy. I said to my wife "it will go off before half-seven," and it did. I think they had all travelled -the 'girls' were apparently from Essex and the blokes weren't local. They were all picked up in cars and Ubers very quickly after the police arrived. Kevin said that the trouble started between them over the girls, so hopefully only them involved. Pretty sure no-one was hurt and it probably sounded worse from my house than it actually was. I know there will be some better behaved Charlton fans there at the weekendCovered End said:Poor Kev.

Carlisle and Exeter threw a few right handlers by all accounts, but had to leave early to get home.3
