Why do you think Reo-Coker is holding us to ransom?
If this is a serious opportunity to sign the player, maybe it's a good thing that first both parties take a good look at each other to ensure everything is the right fit.
Can't we just allow things to run their course and see what unfolds?
That is surely what will happen. If we lose another 2 or 3 Reo-Coker may decide he's better off elsewhere, if we win a couple, he'll be glad to sign on, if the money is right. Either way he is sitting pretty and getting fit at CAFC expense. I don't like the idea of non CAFC-players training with our players. The concentration should be on our fitness, our tactics, and not allowing outsiders to run along using our facilities and playing a waiting game. Message ends
how is he getting fit 'at our expense'? Not exactly costing us anything. How is he 'sitting pretty'? He's not earning at the moment so I don't see how he's sitting pretty. He has turned down offers from abroad so wants to stay in England. He wanted PL football but does not look as if he is going to get it. Next best bet, the Championship. Ok, he is going to want a decent contract but can't be too demanding. I agree with Oggy, no harm in him training with us, both parties sussing each other out, if we are both happy he'll sign, if not he won't.
Surely we wouldn't let NRC train here without some possibility of him signing for us, it's not as if he's a stalwart former Charlton hero. If he trains with us, the signs next week for, say, Ipswich ot Watford, it's hard to see how we've benefited, indeed he might take some secrets to his new club!
He probably knows both Powell and Dyer, he lives nearby, we have great facilities, there's a place in the squad for him if there's nowhere else offering, it's the perfect place for him to train
Phil Brown was on Tslksport Breakfast show this morning extolling NRC and singing his praises, and saying what a massive miss he was to Bolton, and was a part of the reason they'd hot off to a slow start, don't know if Phil Brown was his agent? :-0
Perhaps Powell is sending the owners a message: 'I've got a prem quality player on the hook, he's part of the plan to keep the club up and protect your investment, front up with the funds before he loses interest.'

I agree with what you are saying, problem is I don't think Jiminez cares. I get the impression he is a very self centred guy who is only in it for himself. If he decides there is no money available, he won't be swayed. Probably to the detriment of our great club!! Just my view of course

He's the majority owner of the club - if he decides there is no money available then there is no money available. What would be much worse for the fortunes of the club would be if he OK'd a transfer when there wasn't the money available.

Assuming that NRC lives up north and has no connection with charlton anyway, why oh why would we let him train with us if there is no deal involved?
Having said that, makes you think where probably in talks with him to some degree...
We look at him he looks at us we find out what he is looking for and what if any can be done for both parties
NRC is a great option and a good addition if it comes off
Last week Rick Everett left the club in a blaze of bad feeling and controversy.Today he's giving tickets to the valley away to our armed services.

Caught up with Chris Powell this morning and I asked the #cafc boss about Nigel Reo-Coker training with them.
CP: I've known him for a while and asked if he wanted to train with our development squad, that's all there is to it. #cafc
Chrissy p is such a tease
