  • [cite]Posted By: LoOkOuT[/cite]Seen Feesh in Ikea, Lakeside a few years back

Was he getting a new coffee table??
  • OR...Maybe he's rich enough to have two cars?

Mate of mine works in a garage near where Murph lives/used to live...Took his X5 in there. Was telling him at the time how great he was playing & was likely to get in the England squad. Oh poor ole Danny.

Well he certainly has the time to drive them...
  • Do you think either of his cars has wooden seats?
  • Yep he was at Polo's mates garage getting the back seat replaced with a wooden bench.
  • Rufus and Newts in Release the Groove. That's how I got free tickets.
  • Derek Hales at an English pub in Playa Del Ingles in Gran Canaria, when I was on a family holiday in the late 1980s. Dad was far more excited than I was.

Apparently Dad's also seen Eddie Youds down the gym in Kidbrooke.
  • he was lying to your mum.

If he saw Eddie Youds, then he would of been in a pub.
  • only ever saw Youds in the bookies in lewisham.

I saw Bartlett and his Mrs in sainsbury eltham , lets say she wasn't the average footballers wife .

My sister was at queen marys hospital in sidcup having just had her first scan and her fella was trying to pull his motor out but someone was blocking him in so he got out to have a pop but it was Bartlett so he got him to sign the scan .

Pulled up to the lights by makro next to lisbie on tuesday in his range rover number plate L15B1E , he must have thought "who's this loony in the van next to me waving?"

    Graham Stuart at bluewater

  • Groupie :-)
  • I've had the pleasure of seeing Keith Peacock in Bexley Village a few times.   He's always smiling and always says hello.
  • I saw Ray Crawford shopping in Chiesman's in Lewisham once, with his family.  Probably 1969-ish? Got his autograph too!
  • When I was 17, I went on my first ever non-family holiday with 2 (Millwall supporting) friends. We stayed at a cheap hotel in Benidorm and Harry Cripps, his sister and their families were staying there, who was a Charlton player at the time. Lovely chap and played water polo with us most days. How things have changed, that a pro footballer stayed at the same cheap Benidorm hotel as skint 17 year olds.

Bloody hell, Chiesmans, that's a store from the past! I'm guessing it went a few years back?
Like Hinds in Bexleyheath. Blast from the past.
  • Colin Powell in the Blackheath bookies
Bob Curtis in the Royal Standard pub .. both a LONG time ago

Biggest Police Station in London I believe (possibly in the country thinking about it).....also stable a lot of their horses there.
  • Darren Ambrose with wife shopping in Sainsbury's, Locksbottom.  Nicky Bailey dropping off his daughter at the same pre-school my daughter used to go to in Orpington (seems like a lifetime ago now...).  Chatted to Chris Solly once just after he parked his car in a side street and we walked to Welling for the pre-season starter (again some time ago...).

  • Saw:-
    Colin Walsh in Cyprus.
Graham Stuart in the Slug and Lettuce Beckenham
Lennie Lawrence on Blackfriars early morning, probably off to his job at Luton.

  • Darren Bent, one lunchtime in the Laughing Buddha Bexleyheath.
  • I played cricket against and drunk beer with Jimmy Giles just before it was announced that he was joining Charlton. I played him on a cricket tour at Kenn in Devon. Jimmy played cricket for Worcestershire 2nds and was pretty quick and could hit sixes when batting. I managed survive an over or two of his bowling and when, as a very occasional leg spinner, he was battering us about the postage stamp cricket ground, I managed to get one to turn a bit which he missed. Sadly, our keeper missed the stumping that should have been a doddle. I think he scored 80 or 90 in no time.

He was a very friendly chap and was asking lots of questions about what South East London was like and what the crowd were like. Jimmy was a great competitor for Charlton if not the best centre half ever play for us.
He did himself and us proud and was certainly a very tidy player but I have to say, suggesting he could be considered as the best centre half ever to play for us is really pushing it.

When it was first built wasn't it the biggest police station in Europe?

    Wouldn’t be surprised.

Ambiguous English on my part. He certainly wasn't the best. I've edited it accordingly.
