If he lives up to the 'wonder kid' tag , seems abit wasted at center back
and this is why youre not a pro youth coach
Yet he's school feel he is wasted in defence too , and it was an IF he turns out to be a wonder kid ( with the scouting report saying he's best attribute is playing it on the floor etc )
If there's any truth in either or both Chelsea and Liverpool being interested then I think we can wave bye bye.
Might he not feel that he'd be better off playing for our first team by the time he's 20, rather than disappearing into the black hole of a Sky 4 development squad? We haven't heard much more of McGinty, have we? I hope he thinks hard about that.

i dont think his school have anywhere near the same level of coaching as our academy or even the england age groups. He's probably played in midfield because he is the best footballer by far and can pull the strings, that, however, may not be his best and most natural position. Happened with a guy at my school, by far the best footballer but played for tonbridge angels in central defence even though he was the midfield playmaker at school.

True but it didn't stop McGinty, Shelvey or Jenkinson. Money talks.

But Shelvey and Jenkinson are doing pretty well for themselves in good Premiership teams. McGinty is a few years younger so he's still got it all to come.
Would hardly be a surprise if he did go to Chelsea, especially if he's as good as people on here say he is.
Looking through the England U17 squad there's only 3 boys who aren't at premier league clubs, so it's no surprise the big clubs are sniffing around the ones at smaller clubs.
