I don't think there is an obvious weaker half of the draw, unlike in 2018, so it's more important to play well, beat the Czechs and stay at Wembley.

No quarter finals are at Wembley so it's only the second round game. Either finish top and play a very strong side at wembley, finish second probably play Sweden (though it could easily be Spain or anyone in that group) in Copenhagen. I'm not sure what I'd prefer really, keep changing my mind each time I look.

You can say neither half is weaker but playing for a draw to guarantee we're in the same half as Belgium, Italy and probably the French is mental to me.

Go out and win the game, get a tough round of 16 draw against the Germans and whichever team can get through that has got a really nice run at a final.

The game in Copenhagen will be against Spain if Sweden beat Poland, which I think is likely. Bookies discounting the Swedish odds because Poland need a result but Poland are pants when it matters in these big tournaments.

Theoretical path if we draw and land in the top half: Spain -> France -> Belgium/Italy -> Netherlands/Germany/Portugal

Theoretical path if we win and go into the bottom half: Germany/Portugal -> Sweden -> Netherlands -> Belgium/Italy/France

Honestly not bothered if we win the group or come second. Ok if we come second we get an easier last 16 game, but then we'll likely face the group E winner in the quarters, so we get a tough game regardless.

I feel we'll perform better against a bigger nation anyway, as they won't sit back as much which will allow us more space. Just need Southgate to wake up and actually pick the right attacking players.

I suspect the self isolation of Mount and Chilwell is a case of England being sensible and mitigating risk. Scotland have clearly decided they are not in a position to do this. I am surprised Croatia haven't objected. I would have thought Mount and Chilwell will be tested and given the all clear or not, whether that is today or in a couple of days, I doubt it will be 10 days.

There's no point risking the players or the team for the game tonight so it's sensible keeping then isolated for now but hopefully everything will be OK over the next few days and they can be included again. Mason Mount is a key player for us if we have any chance

Isn't that how they do quarantine? You quarantine for 10 days but can take a test to shorten the period.

Not under the current rules in England. If you're contacted to say you have been in contact with a positive person you have to isolate for the full 10 days regardless of if you test negative during that whole period. I imagine because Chilwell and Mount haven't been contacted by test and trace they may be able to get round this and not do the full 10 days but we'll see.

How are we through based on last nights results
Because the third place teams in two Groups have three points and we have four. As only two third place teams miss out, it can't be a team with four points after last night's results. We cannot finish lower than third in our Group as the two teams that could potentially catch us are playing each other,
So tonight’s England game is basically one where both teams might not necessarily want to win and won’t care if they lose…a pre-season friendly in effect.

I'm not so sure. The route to the final has to be considered and whilst we can't know what it is for certain, I would think winning the group is probably our best bet if we have ambitions to win the tournament. If our ambition is to reach the quarters, finishing second may be best.

I want to see us play with intent tonight and win in impressive style. Win the group and say to whoever we meet next, ‘let’s dance’.

There are pros and cons about where we finish in the group, and we can’t be sure what it means anyway so fuck it.

That’s not what Michael Gove did when he returned from the Champion league final and being notified that he came in contact with someone with the virus. He just took daily tests and carried out as normal if negative.

Well that is probably what they will do with Mount and Chilwell then. I suspect they won't play tonight though. It isn't as if we don't have decent replacements and I suspect Mount and Chilwell will get the all clear for the next match.

I used my wildcard thing on the fantasy league this week, as I thought loads of my team would be rested etc.

Without exception, every time I chose player A over player B, player B has scored.

I came so close to putting in Shaquiri, Damsgaard, Maehle and Wijnaldum who've scored 6 so far this week.

Oh and I took out Lukaku as I thought they'd rest him.

Who among us would not have loved to have been at Parken for that game? The racket!

Oh, and Vlad: The drugs don't work, Vlad. Your football team is just constantly mediocre, like everything else your nation  produces, so stop trolling the world and try to be better, OK, Vlad?

UEFA and FIFA are specialists in creating crappy formats. It's ridiculous to have 16 out of 24 teams qualifying.

Yeah, but think of the profits! ( in an American accent...)

Gove was following an experimental procedure

In the case of the England players, as they've not been contacted by test and trace, I assume the standard procedures don't apply anyway

Mount will be missed, Chilwell seems unlikely to be needed as it looks as though he has been relegated to 3rd choice at left back

    CONMEBOL are just as bad.
Copa America 2021 sees 20 matches played during the group stage in order to reduced 10 teams down to 8.
4 of the 5 teams in each group will advance to the knockout rounds.

Yep England qualified after 2 games.
I'm hoping for a draw tomorrow and then progression to the QF at least.
(I know I'm in the minority and most want a win and us to face France or Germany, maybe Portugal).
Are you really in the minority?
I'm with you, in fact even a minor defeat would be better than a win imo.
