They are gradually showing that everybody might have done it. Last night the focus fell on the Newsagent, so I bet he didn't do it. I am now looking for someone they don't actually focus on, and I am still thinking the Daughters boyfriend.

It is for this reason am suspecting the coppers husband. Seems to be too good to be true, being house husbandy, making effort with Tennant and getting a bit jokey with him, wanting to go to church service etc.
Hope this doesnt turn out to be one of those series that disappears up it's arse by trying to be too clever with the ending.
I reckon Pauline Quirke's character is the daughter of the newsagent bloke and she done it. He probably took the wrap for her on the under age sex conviction where they used to live and moved to the town to cover up their past. Note the mention of a previous unsolved murder case where they used to live and the fact that she appears to have helped him out with the sea cadets (in the photo under a different name). As others have said, too obvious to be the newsagent himself but she is well dodgy!
Very good but confusing after each episode I have a new killer but agree the Pauline Quirke character has something to hide as does the dads partner. A bit contrived but I do like David Tennant great actor

I wish Tennant would do his tie up and behave like a professional detective rather than trying to look like an extra from an episode of The Sweeney. I keep expecting a copper brown Ford Consul to screech round the corner.

I'm still waiting to see what was deleted off his mate's phone and computer. I reckon they will try and make it a real shock,so any one we suspect now probably has nout to do with it!

Seeing as they have had the dead boys computer for a few days now I'm surprised they haven't found anything yet - or are they having trouble with his password !!

Hey, you never know, perhaps they've gone for a touch of realism! I'm going to be a spoilsport now but all that old pony you get on TV cop shows about the plod powering up a computer and viewing someone's files. Doing that would probably make the data unusuable in criminal proceedings because merely accessing the data will change them in some way. By for example altering what was on RAM if the machine was powered up. A specialist has to create an exact image of a hard drive. Only then can the data be accessed on a slave machine without the risk of contaminating them. They have to look for steganography (the concealing of data in another file usually a picture file - a favourite trick of terrorists) and all sorts. It's a long old process and you have to avoid the potential for any challenges in Court. But there are also facilities available to the appropriate authorities to by-pass password protection. Don't forget - hitting the delete button does not remove stuff from your computer (it merely marks a sectors as reusable). It's hilarious when you see some people's faces when you lob a copy of something at them that they think they've got rid of but was still on their machine.
I was wrong then - not the newsagent !! poor sod, if his story was true then he should have been left alone.
but def something going on between the coppers husband & Pauline Quirk and then whats she doing chatting to their son later , like a modern day Fagin...........
Still think the plumbers mate has something to do with it. Shame about poor old Jack and how people jump to conclusions via the press and the crap that's written in the daily rags.
Jack had previous, underage is underage especially when he was 40 at the time. Must admit thought the girl was gonna be Pauline Quirke though. Still reckon the coppers husband did it.
Miller's husband must be involved. Thought he was very quick to stop Hardy questioning his son at the funeral, plus his reaction to the skateboard incident was suspicious.
Bet they will find the body of the dog in the hut...
What was all that about the paintball and the boat? The female detective looked very worried at that point...her son is the next one to be in danger and David Tennant (if he's not dead) will finally work it out and save the day at the last minute...
I think that it's because she's confident that she lives in a town where everyone knows/likes each other and people know each others business, but as the weeks go on and on she's finding out that she didn't really know everyone at all and everyone has secrets. i think she was coming to terms about that with everyone else, but now it's her own family.
we've got 2 episodes left, I'm starting to now think the majority of would be too obvious and if they bring in some character for the last episode who did it, unrelated to everyone else i'll be really annoyed!!!!!

Lucky for him they dont make em like Burnside Carver and PC stamp no more otherwise he would be behind bars already

Fans continue to speculate which character is responsible for the killing, with bookies Ladbrokes even offering odds on the culprit.
Jack Marshall is currently 4/6 favourite, followed by DI Hardy at 3/1, Susan Wright at 5/1 and both Nige Carter and Tom Miller at 7/1.

Like Manuel, I know nothing but I'd invite David Tennant to tea any old time !
Can't believe the dog did it.
