  • It might not be right but you can see why there is a level of hatred towards Muslims for it. I know 99.999% of them go about their daily lives causing no trouble at all, but everytime people are slaughtered by acts of terrorism, it's always a muslim that confesses/is caught to have done/doing it

    What a stupid, stupid post.
  • Whoever did this regardless of race, religion or creed really are the scum of the earth, they are cowardly monsters who have no compassion, no thoughts for innocent people being killed or mutilated. It was a 'fun' marathon FFS, no-one should be using this type of tactic at at any level but at a 'Fun' marathon......evil monsters!! I hope we keep the London marathon and show these people we are not going to be stopped by mindless acts of terrorism. Why is the human race so sick?
  • Why is the human race so sick?

No idea why it is but it needs sorting. we need to make it clear that terrorism is not acceptable and anyone found guilty of it should be cleansed by taking them out of the equation they may be seen as martyrs to some but it may just scare others out of the same line of life.

I don't care what people think of that as these sick are a filth we do not need and cannot be cured by any means but death.

  • I've never felt so angered by an attack?!?!

Not one of the worst examples but it has definitely got to me for some reason.

Sadly,I don't think death is much of a deterrent for these kinds of people.
  • You are probably right but cleanse enough of them and they won't have the numbers to cause such devastation.

Hate to say it but there is no stop to terrorism, these people don't give a F**k these people are evil.

Also still hasn't been proved to be terrorsim yet.

There have been more acts of suicide bombings perpetrated by Christian terrorist groups than by Islamic terrorist groups. The troubles in Northern Ireland are an example of non-Muslim backed terrorism and not too long ago in neighbouring Connecticut a lone nutter decided to shoot and kill some 26 children and teachers in a school.

And to add to Oakster's list - the Oklahoma and Norway attacks were first thought (along with the Atlanta Olympic bomb) to be the work of Islamicists, the perperpetrators turned out to be home grown nutters with chips on the shoulders.

Lets wait for evidence rather than jump to conclusions.
  • You'll never stop terrorism simply by "dealing" with the perpetrators, there'll just be others willing to follow. There needs to not be a reason to see the need to do it. Maybe the system and the politics needs to take some of the blame sometimes? Not that I'm saying there's any justification for an attack like this 'cause there in no way is.
I suppose there'll always be someone who will find a reason if that's what they want to do, it just seems to be more and more people think they have a justifiable reason too.
  • yes and the bombs on trains in Spain were thought to be either the far right or Basque (sic) and turned about to be AlQuida.

its not "muslims" even if it turns out to be AlQuida ---its a microbe of an ultra faction---its not the whole religion

After September 11 the west under NATO invaded Afghanistan, despite that acts of Islamic terrorism were not stopped - there were bombings in Bali, Madrid, London and other places.

And over a decade on our troops are still there.

So...what nation do we invade in retaliation? Will it solve anything?

  • Don't turn it into a race thing guys on one naive comment.

Personally I think the longer it goes with no acclaimed responsibility, the chance it increases that it is down to an individual domestic nut job.
  • Agree.
  • Until the FBI confirm its just speculation no one claiming it dosnt mean naff all just as lots of scum bags claiming it dosnt mean they did it.

saying Christians are worse bblah blah is just as bad as saying its the Muslims -----crock of shit
  • Scum absolute scum !
Just imagine if that happened at this London Marathon, and it effected your family ! Just Sickening !

It has already affected my family...we are all related to all those people.

  • no,
WHOEVER it is I hope them and their family rot in hell.

    Why their family?

  • Hatred is hatred, whether political, religious or whatever. This is merely an amplification of how we are as a society. How many on here have spat vitriol at another just because of differing political views. Yes, we are sickened and horrified, but we need to be! It shouldnt take an incident like this to make us think about how we treat one another.

    Agreed
  • Well, if you think about all the terrorist atrocities that could happen, and the devastation that could occur, the actual numbers are very low. That's no consolation for the families of who lost loved ones, but put it this way - more people ran towards the bomb to help than were responsible for the blast. You'll never get rid of scum but times like this can sometimes give me a better feeling towards humanity.
  • Why don't people understand why the terrorists chose this event? It is second only to the Superbowl in the States in terms of media coverage AND took place on Patriots Day, a symbolic, national holiday. Hello??!!

  • At times like these, emotions run high, people say stupid or naive things and discussions get heated. Its for that reason that the debate about how to resolve the problem of terrorism is best left to well after the fact.

    This.

The actual explosions tells you a lot about the incident itself.

The explosives used would not appear to be commercial due to the blast pattern and the radius of the blast itself. It didn't even knock down the flags or do too much damage to the adjacent timber fencing. People five yards away from the blast were still standing. So probably home made and in a small container.

I'd be very surprised if this was the work of an organised terrorist group - it's just not a big enough publicity bomb for them.

RIP those that were killed and let's hope they catch the bastard responsible quickly.

Because none of us know any facts yet? How can you be certain of the motive without knowing who was responsible. You use terrorists (plural) yet it seems just as plausable it could be a lone perpetrator.

Tbh if it were an organised group looking to cause maximum fatalities they got it wrong. That time at London would have been the busiest across the line but Boston has qualifying times therefore a lot, probably the majority, of runners would have already gone through.

I agree that it's not a suprise to me that a big city marathon has (unfortunately) been targeted though. Lots of people, low security and lots of media coverage.
  • RIP so very very horrible and tragic thing to happen to those poor people! :( my thoughts are with people of boston and america! Plus the man on the roof pics are very erie! Radio saying pic now with FBI

Historically in the USA, a terror attack is far more likely to have been committed by a non-Muslim than a Muslim. Obviously 9/11 was the biggest so it sticks in peoples minds but apart from that and an Al-Qaeda attack there in the 90s, i don't recall too many other attacks.
  • got a gut feeling its a nutter working on his own.

  • got a gut feeling its a nutter working on his own.

Tend to agree. It doesn't have the hallmarks of a suicide bomber. I must admit I'm less uneasy knowing Obama is in charge than Bush. He'd've declared war on north Korea and Iran by now in retaliation
  • Typical and effective terrorism no matter who carried out the outrage .. a desire to make populations uneasy wherever they are and whatever they are doing
  • Its not a numbers thing.what about the people who lost limbs, loss of vision ,hearing, or now TERRORISED to be in public places?

bombs left in pubs, buses, trains, kids toys ---------it happened here !!

It dosnt matter what religion they say they follow, or they dont like mondays, or they are marxist/facist-----scum of the earth plant bombs----they do not have rights as humans.
  • Conspiracy: A spanner getting the media spotlight off them.
