Dawson is quality. Was dragged over the O's regularly by my old man when Charlton were away and he was very good. Much better than what we have. He's a, grab the game by the scruff of the neck, player. What we need.

Just what we need. We've missed a Kinsella / Parker type player like this for years now. Jackson leads by example but he's never going to dominate a midfield battle.
Southampton's Jason Puncheon set for Crystal Palace loan move
By Nabil Hassan BBC Sport Crystal Palace are expected to complete the season-long loan signing of Southampton winger Jason Puncheon later on Wednesday. Croydon-born Puncheon is understood to want the move for family reasons. The 27-year-old, who joined Saints from Plymouth in 2010, has played 81 times for the club and was a key member of their Premier League squad last season. He previously played under Palace manager Ian Holloway at Blackpool, having begun his career at Wimbledon. Puncheon signed a new deal in March, tying him to Saints until 2016. Palace have been searching for a right winger since Wilfried Zaha left the club to join Manchester United in the summer.
Family reasons or not getting in the team reasons? It's not as if he's playing in Carlisle or Newcastle at the moment!

A bit of a weird if it comes off. Why would you loan one of your players to a potential relegation rival? Sell him maybe, but a loan?

In all fairness Southampton will finish about 20 points ahead of Palace this season with or without him. Think they are on entirely different levels.

Southampton don't expect to be anywhere near a relegation battle this season. I reckon they'll be closer to the top 4 than the bottom 3
Agree with both the last two posters - Southampton are really moving forward at the moment. They have some great young players and could move up a level this season IMHO.

Who is "executive board member with responsibility for football matters" at St Mary's? Step forward Mr Les Reed, briefly Charlton manager in 2006. See current VOTV, pp 26-31.
Very interesting but almost seems a pointless role considering our plight. Not blaming him but it certainly hasn't been a very productive role considering the talent pool in Spain.
Saw Matt Phillips joined QPR today from Blackpool. They could be looking for another striker soon, probably could get them as well if they offer a contract that is longer than 9 months.

Yeah should have got Navas. The guy is obviously a busted flush.
Wonder if there will be any business for us this week.
I know the loan window re-opens but maybe there'll be one or two arrivals/departures.
Martin Allen said late last week he was working on a Championship midfielder to join them on loan. Danny Hollands sprung to mind as he doesn't seem to be in Powell's plans.

Not sure he has played about Conference South so would be a big step up.
