  • Well I turned over and farted in bed this morning. Nothing else to report up here in Jockland.
  • in casualty most of last night from early hours with the little one, the conditions meant a deserted a&e and QE and actually a reasonably bearable experience for a change. The docs were able to diagnose him and some heavy duty nebulising got him back on track. Working from home today as not really fit to work let alone attempt the transport system.. apart from a fence panel and some trellis down thankfully not much else to report
  • A young girl has been killed in Hever after a tree fell where she was sleeping and a man killed by a falling tree on his car elsewhere. A house in Hounslow also destroyed by a gas explosion after a tree fell on it.

  • There's a hole in my roof dear CL, dear CL....................

And it's quite a large one and a neighbours tree is now sharing our grounds. The pigeons look bemused. No-one hurt, one hour on the phone so far to the insurance co......................
  • Woke up at about 6 to see the damage out of the bedroom window, it was blowing a hooley out there, think I saw what looked like a packet of Doritos fly past the window, can't be sure of the flavor though.
  • Any roofers out there want some work?
  • For a storm to be deemed worthy of conversation, the noise of a tin can bouncing down the street is mandatory.
Additional items such as twigs and recycling bins add to the ferociousness factor.
However, when you witness Doritos flying past the window, then you have a mother of a storm on your hands.

Delroofer is on here but I bet he is busy this morning.
  • Yes.

And I, bizarrely, just drove down your road !

Another couple down in Brooklands, and the big one down in Harland has been chopped up already. Fair size one down by playground over King George's.

Should've popped in for a cuppa. You can't miss my house - it's the one with all of the empty cans/bottles lined up outside for the recycling and the Youngs delivery lorry on the drive once a day.

These are real tragedies, but it's normal in circumstances like this that people make jokes and try to lighten the situation up. It's a coping mechanism.
  • What a journey left home at 10, first 1/2 mile to Dartford tunnel about 30 minutes, then stopped for 90 minutes just before the tolls booths, finally made it through the tunnel, only to find M25 shut just after the Thurrock turn off, had enough turned around and came home but that took a further 30 minutes as the stupid idiots will block the roundabouts up, so 21/2hours and done less than 5 miles!

What idiot would have their office in Harlow and live in Dartford.

Sorry Guys. Trees down around North London and plenty of emergency calls for me to deal with at the moment. Panels blown from my greenhouse and our side fence blown onto neighbour's car so my hands are full for the time being.

    Booo.

  • Bit drizzly in Yorkshire but not much wind. Quite nice for this time of year truth be told.
  • Looked out my bedroom window this morning to survey the damage. Neighbours greenhouse seems to have lost a pane of glass.

    Tangoflash, sky news in Gravesend.......................

Same road by the looks of that picture. Was that taken from your house?

    Yes from my bedroom window.
  • Weather forecaster Michael Fish became a victim of the storm tearing across Britain last night and this morning, when a tree landed in his back garden.

The incident comes 26 years after he famously dismissed rumours of an upcoming hurricane, only to be proven wrong.
  • Just landed at Gatwick, not too bad a flight, flew round a few thunder storms.

Oh come off it. Bit of an overreaction - this chaos has affected millions of people this morning. Making light-hearted remarks is a pretty good way of overcoming the stress of the situation - there's no offence intended to the poor souls who have been killed or hurt.
